Lumen: A Personalized Metabolic Health Coach

POWERED BY:

Most people trying to lose weight or change their body composition fall into a rut or see initial results, only to hit a plateau.

What if those individuals had a handheld device that could show them what was happening in their bodies in real-time?

  • Lumen is the first handheld metabolic coach, transforming the way people approach weight loss and health goals by offering a highly personalized experience.

How it works: The device is backed by science and measures metabolism through breath using a CO2 sensor and flow meter. The individual just needs to breathe into the Lumen once, and all their data populates in the Lumen app.

  • You can use the Lumen right after waking up, before or after meals, or prior to starting a workout to assess what your body needs for fitness preparation. It will indicate whether you are burning carbs or fat and if you need to carb up for an energy boost.
  • This type of biofeedback helps people achieve their most optimal state to maximize training. The Lumen app also provides individuals with a personalized daily nutrition plan based on their measurements.

What is metabolism? Frankly, it’s a term that is used far too often without much insight into its actual meaning. A person’s metabolism is their body’s engine; it’s how the body transforms the food they consume into energy.

Metabolism plays a central role in all bodily functions; therefore, optimal metabolic health leads to numerous benefits, including easier weight management, improved energy levels, better sleep, and enhanced results at the gym.

  • Once an individual begins using Lumen, the device personalizes and understands their metabolic flexibility, a crucial function that is often overlooked. Metabolic flexibility refers to the body’s capacity to switch between fuel sources, such as carbohydrates and fats.
  • Additionally, there are optimal times to use each source, and the ease of transitioning from one to the other places them on a metabolic flexibility spectrum. Lumen provides a metabolic flex score for individuals to track and improve over time.

The Lumen has shown proven results, with users losing up to 12% of their body weight in just six months and experiencing a 30% improvement in metabolic flexibility scores, according to 2024 Lumen user data analysis.

  • As of now, Lumen has recorded more than 65 million metabolic measurements, and this figure keeps increasing.
  • Numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies have validated the technology, demonstrating its ability to measure metabolism with the same accuracy as the gold standard metabolic chart.

One last thing: A weight loss plateau is very common and can be frustrating, but embracing science-backed technology can be a great starting point.
