The 2024 Powerlifting America (PA) Raw Nationals was a deep display of prowess within the sport in International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) weight categories. In the 105KG class, Ashton Rouska stood atop the podium and scored many accolades along the way.

Rouska’s raw total of 941 kilograms exceeded the IPF raw total world record of 940 kilograms, currently held by Anatolii Novopismennyi of Ukraine. Rouska also matched the IPF raw squat world record of 363 kilograms, also currently held by Novopismennyi.

Unfortunately for Rouska, since the 2024 PA Raw Nationals was not an international meet, his total is an unofficial record. Still, it proves that Rouska has the strength to alter the record books when the opportunity on an international lifting platform arises. Check out Rouska’s performance in the videos below, courtesy of his Instagram page:

2024 Powerlifting America Raw Nationals Results — Ashton Rouska, 105KG

  • Squat
    • 325 kilograms (716.5 pounds)
    • 363 kilograms (800.3 pounds) — Matches IPF World Record
  • Bench Press
    • 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds)
    • 205 kilograms (452 pounds)
    • 210 kilograms (463 pounds)
  • Deadlift
    • 325 kilograms (716.5 pounds)
    • 368 kilograms (811.3 pounds)
    • 375.5 kilograms (827.8 pounds)
  • Total — 941 kilograms (2,074.6 pounds) — One kilogram more than the current IPF World Record.

Per Rouska’s caption on his Instagram post, he felt he had plenty left in the tank across all three lifts but hedged as he was not able to train to his full potential since September 2023 after recovering from injury. He attributes the success to the disciplined mindset he’s developed over the years at the top of the sport.

It was so hard, so painful and so frustrating getting through these months, with little in the way of consistency. But we persisted on.

While not a stated goal of Rouska, given that he felt he could have lifted more with a more robust and consistent prep, it seems within his range to reach the milestone total of 1,000 kilograms, which only thus far has been achieved by John Haack‘s 1,030-kilogram raw total at the 2022 USPA Pro Raw Championships.
