The 2024 Powerlifting America (PA) Raw Nationals occurred on March 14-16, 2024, in Reno, NV. The competition featured a who’s who of notable names in the elite powerlifting sphere. Notably, Austin Perkins, who typically competes at 75KG, competed in the 74KG class and scored the overall gold with a total of 839 kilograms.

En route to that gold-medal total, Perkins locked out an all-time world record raw squat of 318 kilograms — 4.5 kilograms more than his previous world record of 313.5 kilograms, secured at the 2023 USAPL Raw Nationals in September 2023.

Check out Perkins’ three big lifts from the 2024 PA Raw Nationals in the videos below, courtesy of his Instagram page:

2024 Powerlifting America Raw Nationals Results — Austin Perkins, 74KG

Perkins went seven for seven in attempts at the 2024 PA Raw Nationals, foregoing his third attempts in the bench press and deadlift.

  • Squat
    • 292.5 kilograms (644.9 pounds)
    • 308 kilograms (679 pounds)
    • 318 kilograms (701.1 pounds) — All-Time Raw World Record
  • Bench Press
    • 185 kilograms (407.9 pounds)
    • 195 kilograms (429.9 pounds)
  • Deadlift
    • 307.5 kilograms (677.9 pounds)
    • 326 kilograms (718.7 pounds)
  • Total — 839 kilograms (1,849.7 pounds)

Not only did Perkins score the all-time world record raw squat, but his total was a half-kilogram more than the all-time International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) raw total. The current world record of 838.5 kilograms belongs to Taylor Atwood, who scored it at the 2021 USAPL Raw Nationals. However, since the 2024 PA Raw Nationals was not an IPF international contest, Perkins’ world record total remains unofficial.
