Brandon Curry Shares Physique Update 6 Weeks Out of 2025 Arnold Classic

The former Mr. Olympia is locked in for Columbus.

Brandon Curry, the 2019 Mr. Olympia and two-time Arnold Classic champion, is one of the athletes set to return to Columbus, OH, for the 2025 Arnold Classic, which will be held from Feb. 28 to March 1, 2025. Curry, who won in 2019 and 2022, seeks his third career Arnold Classic title and the $500,000 prize.

On Jan. 16, 2025, Curry posted an Instagram video showing his progress six weeks before the 2025 Arnold Classic. The Tennessee native did not share his body weight, but he revealed changes in his prep strategy this time, specifically working with a new coach and staying in the United States.

“Thanks to my coach Justin Harris’s app, I know that this video was exactly taken six weeks and one day out from the Arnold Classic,” Curry wrote, still at home instead of traveling to Kuwait, as he had done in previous years to prepare for the Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia competitions.

“I’m managing well at home. My wife, Brandy Leaver, has made this transition more comfortable for me, and I appreciate all her help. There is just a bit more grinding to go, and God willing, I will see many of you in Columbus.”

Curry has been in the pro ranks since 2008, making him one of the most experienced stage veterans still competing. He has already made history throughout his career as the fourth of six athletes to win the Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia and the third to do it in the same season. The other two who won in the same year were Ronnie Coleman (2001) and Dexter Jackson (2008).

If Curry were to win the 2025 Arnold Classic, he would be the fifth athlete to win three Arnold Classic championships, joining Flex Wheeler, Jay Cutler, Jackson, and Kai Greene. Jackson has the most Arnold Classic victories in history, with five wins in Columbus.

Curry was last onstage at the 2024 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, NV, where he placed ninth. A win in Columbus would make him eligible to compete at the 2025 Mr. Olympia. As a past champion, he has lifetime eligibility, but it has been over five years since his last Olympia title. If he does not win a pro show during the qualifying season, he would need permission from the IFBB Pro League office to compete at the 2025 Olympia.

Curry’s name has also been mentioned as a possible entrant in the 2025 Masters Olympia, set for Aug. 9-10 in Tokyo, Japan. Curry, age 42, has not directly confirmed or denied whether he would compete in that event.

If Curry does compete in the Masters Olympia and wins, he would qualify for the 2025 Olympia and become only the second athlete to have the Olympia, Masters Olympia, and the Arnold Classic titles on his resume. The other is Jackson, who won the Sandow Trophy in 2008 and completed the trilogy in 2012 with his Masters Olympia win.
