The 2024 Figure Olympia, which concluded on Oct. 11, 2024, was similar for those who have watched bodybuilding’s world championships for most of the past decade: Eight-time champion Cydney Gillon wins in dominant fashion. And she did.
- After winning her eighth consecutive championship in Las Vegas, NV, Gillon took the mic from announcer Bob Cicherillo and relayed that this was her farewell from competitive bodybuilding.

With her eighth victory secured, Gillon retires on a high note, tying Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman with eight Olympia titles. However, she still trails Iris Kyle, who won 10 Ms. Olympia titles throughout the 2000s and 2010s.
Cydney Gillon: The Figure G.O.A.T.?
The Women’s Figure division has been a battle for silver for almost a decade, thanks to Gillon. Beginning in 2017, Gillon established a run at the “O” that most competitors, in Figure or otherwise, could only dream of.
- Gillon has mostly opted to compete solely at the Olympia each year, though she has several Arnold Classic Figure wins to her name as well during her tenure at the top of the category.

While she bowed out gracefully on stage, Gillon did not specify what her post-bodybuilding plans would be. In 2016, Gillon had a brief stint as a reality television contestant during a season of Survivor: Kaôh Rōng, where she finished in fourth place.
If Gillon can bring her Olympia A-game to her next pursuit, we’re sure she’ll set forth another dynasty to be proud of. BarBend congratulates Gillon on a spectacular career.
