Drew Wayman: I like “sandbags and rope climbs”

We caught up with Drew Wayman, who currently sits in second place and  just eight points behind Patrick Vellner.

“I was kinda confident coming in because I did so well at Regionals,” Wayman said. “Event 3, sandbags and rope climbs are two of my favorite things so I was happy about that workout.”

Wayman, who placed fourth in the Wodapalooza online qualifier, spent day 1 competing in a different heat than the top athletes. The leaderboard will be reshuffled at the start of Day 2.

“Event 4 is a really unknown. I’ve never done any swimming in any competition so I have zero idea how I’ll stack up.”
