Dubai CrossFit Championship Competition Details
Last week, CrossFit announced the Dubai CrossFit Championship as the first ever CrossFit sanctioned event. As a sanctioned event, the DCC would be sending the top male, female and team to the 2019 CrossFit Games.
The DCC will continue with its two stage format, an online qualifier followed by an in-person championship hosted in Dubai.
The Online Qualifier: October 3 – 21.
The three week, three event online qualifier will find the top 37 men, 37 women and 10 teams who will receive invitations to Dubai. According to the website, “Teams are made up of two male, two female athletes who validity register to the online qualifier and train primarily at the same physical location no later than January 1st, 2018.” All athletes and teams will be required to complete the online qualifier in order to compete.
Cash prizes will also be awarded to overall winners:
— Individuals: 1). $9000, 2). $6000, 3). $3,000, 4-37). $500.
— Teams: 1). $5000, 2). $3000, 3). $1500, 4 – 10). $500.
The Championship: December 12 – 15
There will be 10 events during the four-day long competition, and on top of getting a ticket to the CrossFit Games, cash prizes will be awarded for overall placement as well as individual events.
