Graham Hicks Withdraws From 2025 Britain’s Strongest Man Contest

A biceps injury has forced Hicks to bow out.

British strongman Graham Hicks has announced he will not compete in the 2025 Giants Live Britain’s Strongest Man contest. Hicks withdrew from the contest, set for Feb. 1, 2025, at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, England, due to a bicep injury he suffered in training.

“I sustained a biceps tear when my deadlift strap snapped, and unfortunately, it’s not healing quick enough.”

—Graham Hicks

The post with the announcement that Hicks “didn’t want to make” can be seen below:

Hicks wrote that he hopes to enter another show later in 2025. He did not specify when the injury occurred. Hicks most recently competed in the 2024 World Deadlift Championships as part of that year’s Giants Live USA Strongman Championship. He finished tied for seventh with a lift of 425 kilograms.

Hicks most recent full competition was the 2023 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) in Myrtle Beach, SC. He competed in Group 3 of the Qualifying stage but failed to reach for the Finals. Mitchell Hooper won Group 3 and the WSM title that year.

Multiple injuries have impacted world-record holder Hicks’ strongman career in recent years. He bowed out of the 2022 competition due to a groin injury and previously suffered a biceps injury in 2020, which kept him out of that year’s WSM contest. Hicks was the 2019 Britain’s Strongest Man champion and hoped to secure his second championship in 2025.

2025 Britain’s Strongest Man Roster

There is no official word on if another athlete will fill Hicks’ spot before the contest. If not, 11 athletes remain on the contest’s roster at the time of this article’s publication, which can be seen below below:
