How are 2018 Games Athletes Performing in the 2019 Open?
After two scored events — out of five or six total — here’s a quick snapshot of how 2018 CrossFit Games athletes are performing in the 2019 CrossFit Open.
To help you digest this data, we’ve pulled out a few key findings:
- 20 athletes are currently in a qualifying position via top 25. We say top 25 because of the backfilling after national champions. However, more than half are sitting in very strong qualifying positions (50th or better or top 3 in their country).
- Six of the top 10 female athletes in the Open competed at the 2018 CrossFit Games.
- 12 athletes are currently first in their country.
- 10 athletes are not doing the Open this year.
