Luka Djukic Withdraws From Europe Semifinal
We will not see the two Djukic brothers competing together in Madison this year. Shortly after the close of Day 1 for the individuals at the Europe Semifinal, Luka Djukic announced via social media that he would be withdrawing from the competition.
- Djukic: “Sidelined for the rest of the weekend. Been dealing with wild flu for the past few days, and even though my mind was on the floor for the first two events, my body wasn’t. Heartbroken that one more CrossFit Games season will end in this stage, but there is a limit to what a body can handle.”
After making the Games in 2022, Djukic came into the weekend hoping to punch another ticket. He finished 23rd in Test 1, his body clearly showing signs of sickness. The ring muscle-up complex in Test 2 proved too much for him to handle in this state, finishing with 0 reps. Luka now becomes a fan, cheering for his brother Lazar, currently sitting in first place with 285 points.
- Luka Djukic finishes his post with optimism: “If there is one thing I learned through my career, it’s how to come back stronger after adversity, and that is what I will do again.”
