Results and Standings: 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games Day 3

See what went down on the third day of the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games!

Day 3 in Madison, Wisconsin at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games started out with an absolute bang with a Team Sprint Relay.

The team field was cut from 11 teams to 9 teams following the Team Sprint Relay. The individual action followed with the women battling it out head-to-head in a Sprint event. The sprint event would cut the individual athlete field from 20 athletes to 10.

Another team event was announced, the Team Big Chipper, which will cut the team field to 7 teams.

Event 6: Team Sprint Relay 

  • For time: Sprint course relay Team members will run the course as a relay, slapping hands to tag the next runner.
  • Teams will race against each other head-to-head in a 2-round bracketed tournament.
  • Round 1 will have heats of 4, 4, and 3 teams, with the top 5 moving on to the final round.

Results:

  • First place: CrossFit Krypton
  • Second place: Invictus X
  • Third place: Don’t Stop

Event 6 Sprint: Individual Women

  • For time: Sprint through the course Athletes will race in heats of 5 for a 3-round bracketed tournament.
  • The first round will have 4 heats, the second round will have 2 heats, and five athletes will advance to the final round.
  • Places 1-5 will be awarded to the athletes in the final round, based on finishing order.
  • Places 6-10 will be awarded to the athletes from the second round, based on their times.
  • Places 11-20 will be awarded to the remaining athletes based on the time it takes them to complete the course in the first round.

  • First place: Kristin Holte
  • Second place: Carolyne Prevost
  • Third place: Tia-Clair Toomey

Event 6 Sprint: Individual Men

  • For time: Sprint through the course Athletes will race in heats of 5 for a 3-round bracketed tournament.
  • The first round will have 4 heats, the second round will have 2 heats, and five athletes will advance to the final round.
  • Places 1-5 will be awarded to the athletes in the final round, based on finishing order.
  • Places 6-10 will be awarded to the athletes from the second round, based on their times.
  • Places 11-20 will be awarded to the remaining athletes based on the time it takes them to complete the course in the first round.

Results:

  • First place: Saxon Panchik
  • Second place: Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson
  • Third place: Noah Ohlsen

Event 7: Team Big Chipper

  • For time, working in pairs:
  • 50 cheese curd cleans
  • 50 box jump-overs
  • 50 team axle-bar deadlifts
  • 50 synchro GHD sit-ups
  • 12 burpee
  • Snail jump-overs
  • 30 synchro GHD sit-ups
  • 30 team axle-bar deadlifts
  • 30 box jump-overs
  • 30 cheese curd cleans ♀70-lb. curd, 30-in. box ♂100-lb. curd, 36-in. box ♀♂
  • 715-lb. deadlift

Time cap: 25 minutes (Teams will advance after 25 reps of each exercise on the way down and after 15 reps on the way back.)

Results:

  • First place: Mayhem Freedom
  • Second place: OC3 Black
  • Third place: Central Beasts

Event 7 Split Triplet: Individual Women

5 rounds for time of:

  • 1 pegboard ascent
  • 100 double-unders
  • 10 single-arm dumbbell hang split snatches
  • 10 single-arm dumbbell hang clean and split jerks 55-lb. dumbbell. Athletes must alternate arms on each rep of the hang snatch.

Time cap: 20 minutes

Results:

  • First place: Tia-Claire Toomey
  • Second place: Karissa Pearce
  • Third place: Katrin Davidsdottir

Event 7 Split Triplet: Individual Men

5 rounds for time of:

  • 1 pegboard ascent
  • 100 double-unders
  • 10 single-arm dumbbell hang split snatches
  • 10 single-arm dumbbell hang clean and split jerks 80-lb. dumbbell. Athletes must alternate arms on each rep of the hang snatch.

Time cap: 20 minutes

Results:

  • First place: Mat Fraser
  • Second place: Noah Ohlsen
  • Third place: Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson

Event 8 Clean: Individual Women

  • For Load: 1-Rep Clean
  • *Tiebreak with 5 reps for time.
  • 215-220-225-230-235-240-245-250-255-260 lb. with 195 lb. tiebreak

Results:

  • First place: Tia-Clair Toomey (265 lbs!)
  • Second place: Amanda Barnhart
  • Third place: Anne Fragkou

  • For Load: 1-Rep Clean
  • *Tiebreak with 5 reps for time.

  • First place: Mat Fraser (380 lbs!)
  • Second place: Scott Panchik
  • Third place: Adrian Myndwiler
