Review of the Week: Represent 247
You may have seen Joshua Al-chamaa, Christian Harris and the Move Fast Lift Heavy 247 team donning the 247 line by Represent, clad in sleek neutral colors, a style of clothing that transitions seamlessly from gymwear to streetwear.
The brand, founded by brothers George and Michael Heaton, has grown in popularity beyond the CrossFit market, as we’ve seen the clothes worn by celebrities like Dua Lipa and Justin Bieber.
As more lux-casual brands are popping up, we were excited to see if this one lived up to the hype. We were able to try out a few pieces of the 247 line, and wanted to let you know what we thought.
The long sleeve has a soft cotton feel but is instead constructed with breathable antibacterial cooling fabric, allowing stretch, quick drying and it continues to maintain its shape and deep black color wash after wash. It fits oversized, so is perfect for layering this time of year. This is definitely going to become a staple moving into the colder months.
The training pants are sleek and lightweight. They have zippered pockets, including a center back waistband pocket, and while they are slim fit, are still roomy and would be great for a trail run or outdoor training where shorts are just a bit too chilly. The style is such that paired with some clean kicks, they could be worn coaching, or out and about, away from the gym.
The track jacket is the ideal outerwear piece that everyone needs, as the weather is cooling down. It fits nicely over a long sleeve to add a little extra warmth, and is the perfect hiking or running layer. There are hand straps that prevent them from slipping up while you move, so that you can stay warm while running or training, but unencumbered. The neutral army green looks great with black, but also pairs perfectly with denim if one is wanting a one-piece-fits-all for gym, training and nights out.
The snood is a must-needed accessory in colder weather, fits perfectly in a pocket for when you need a little more on your head or neck. It’s lightweight, so a great piece to use for outdoor winter training, when you need to take the edge off the cold, but something thick and insulated would be stifling.
The bottom line: Represent isn’t getting noticed by professional athletes and celebrities by accident. The 247 line is made up of well-made, thoughtfully designed products that would definitely enhance a fall/winter wardrobe. The oversized feel and look of the clothes is fun and functional, giving you the versatility to wear them as gym clothes or street clothes.
