We’re now into the second half of Wodapalooza, and this Sanctional has been entertaining, inspiring, and intense. Going into the day, there was a surprise on top of the men’s side while the favorites were in the lead in the women’s field. The teams’ positions were extremely close and it’s anyone’s event to win. Here is how the third day’s events went down.

Shark Bait

This event included single leg squats, lifting a D-ball over the shoulder, and 300 meter swims. On the men’s side of the field, it was hometown favorite Noah Ohlsen who would take the victory by completing the entire workout in 13 minutes. Taking second place with a time of 13:15 would be Saxon Panchik. Cole Sager was third but that was enough to move him up to the overall lead on points over Travis Williams who finished the first event of the day in 7th.

As for the ladies, Sara Sigmundsdottir went into the day in the overall lead but this is where Tia-Clair Toomey made her move as she takes the victory with a time of 11:57. Sigmundsdottir completed the workout in 10th place so now she and Toomey switch positions on the overall leaderboard. As for the rest of the top three in this event, Kendall Vincelette takes the runner-up spot and coming in 3rd place was Colleen Fotsch.

In the teams’ field, Mayhem Freedom and Team GoWod were the top 2 on the leaderboard and they finished this event in the same order. JST Compete/Wit rounded out the top 3. Team Wit finished in 4th place in this event but still sat in third overall in the standings.

Nine Lives and Nine Lives B

Next up was Nine Lives, which included chest to bars, toes to bar, clean and jerks, and worm work for the teams which is how this one began. This time Team GoWod would be victorious with a time of 12:53 and Mayhem Freedom finished 2nd by 50 seconds. Mayhem Independence rounded out the top 3 for this workout. Team Wit finished 5th but was still able to stay in the overall top 3.
Next up were the women and it would be Amanda Barnhart taking the win in this event with a time of 2:54 followed by Sigmundsdottir coming in two seconds later. Brooke Wells rounded out the top three. Toomey finished in 4th place but was able to maintain the overall lead.

The individual competitors had another event to complete which was Nine Lives B. This event was more chest to bar and clean and jerks but it was Every Minute on the Minute (EMOM) until completion. The ladies actually completed this workout before the men took their turns. Alanna Fisk-Colon would take the top honors this time with a time of 2:58. Sigmundsdottir would be in second for the second consecutive time and third place going to Vincelette.

Toomey would finish in 4th place but end the day as the overall leader by 16 points.

We conclude the third day of competition with the men taking the platform. Panchik was in first place of Nine Lives with a time of 3:37. Sager, Williams, and Patrick Vellner rounded out the top 4 with those three holding on to their top positions.

Next up was Nine Lives B and this event had a surprise winner. Milosz Staworzynski finishes the day by placing first with a time of 2:37. He is currently in 14th place overall. Christian Lucero is the runner-up by 21 seconds and finishing third would be Nate Long. Sager finished in 7th place. As for the other two leaders, Vellner finished 19th and Williams came in 32nd. As a result, they switch positions on the leaderboard while Sager finishes Saturday on top.
