“We had originally planned to run the event on July 24, 2021, and due to the ongoing complications of travel during the pandemic, we are moving the event date back further into 2021,” the organization stated. “Hopefully, the later date will help to be able to have the world of international travel (and crossing borders without long quarantines) to enable the competitors that are planning to compete to be able to take part.”

Per the post, the organizers are looking to host the contest in August or September, depending on when the intended venue will be available. According to their website, the original host venue would have been Fortress Obetz in Obetz, OH. Obetz is located in the Columbus area. The 2020 World Championship event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The post also stated that formal invitations have yet to be sent out to the athletes, which will happen once the details of the 2021 contest are finalized.

Static Monsters is a contest that calls for athletes to perform two lifts — the log press and the axle deadlift. Static Monsters host two competitions. The world championship event, which occurs in-person, has been held in 2018 and 2019. There’s also Static Monsters Worldwide, an online event that has been held every year — including 2020 — since 2015. Competitors record their lifts and send the footage in to be approved by judges. The 2020 champion in the men’s division was four-time World’s Strongest Man Zydrunas Savickas. American competitor Sharon Moss won the women’s division.

We will update this post with more information as it is made available.
