2022 Strongman Champions League Romania Results — Kelvin de Ruiter Victorious

de Ruiter beat 11 other strongman across five events for the title.

The 2022 Strongman Champions League (SCL) Romania contest took place on Sept. 17, 2022, in Sibiu, Romania. A dozen elite strongmen representing nine different countries clashed across five events in the single-day contest. Those events were the Hercules Hold, Truck Pull, Frame Carry, Log Lift, and Atlas Stones.

Kelvin de Ruiter added another SCL contest victory to his resume, finishing with 48 of a possible 60 points — two more than Finland’s Miko Törrö, who finished as the runner-up. Here are the full results:

2022 Strongman Champions League Romania Results

  1. Kelvin de Ruiter (Netherlands) — 48 points
  2. Mika Törrö (Finland) — 46 points
  3. Kane Francis (UK) — 43 points
  4. Péter Juhász (Hungary) — 39.5 points
  5. Sebastian Kurek (Poland) — 35 points
  6. Evans Aryee (Belgium) — 34 points
  7. Andrea Invernizzi (Italy) — 33 points
  8. Anders Aslak (Denmark) — 31 points
  9. Robert Topârceanu (Romania) — 26.5 points
  10. Alessandro Castelli (Italy) — 25 points
  11. Vladimir Comorovschi (Romania) — 15 points
  12. Alex Cristolovean (Romania) — 11 points

Hercules Hold

The Hercules Hold challenged each strongman to sustain leaning pillars in each hand for the longest possible time.

  1. Andrea Invernizzi — 54.91 seconds
  2. Kane Francis — 42.12 seconds
  3. Kelvin de Ruiter — 41.65 seconds
  4. Mika Törrö — 39.09 seconds
  5. Péter Juhász — 37.47 seconds
  6. Alessandro Castelli — 37.34 seconds
  7. Vladimir Comorovschi — 35.41 seconds
  8. Anders Aslak — 28.91 seconds
  9. Evans Aryee — 24.66 seconds
  10. Robert Topârceanu — 26.44 seconds
  11. Alex Cristolovean — 15.94 seconds
  12. Sebastian Kurek — 15.71 seconds

Truck Pull

Each strongman pulled a truck down a course in the fastest time possible. de Ruiter reached the finish line in under 23 seconds — the only athlete to do so.

  3. Péter Juhász — 25.13 seconds
  4. Sebastian Kurek — 25.25 seconds
  5. Robert Topârceanu — 25.28 seconds

  8. Anders Aslak — 26.88 seconds
  9. Alex Cristolovean — 27.81 seconds
  10. Vladimir Comorovschi — 28.11 seconds
  11. Alessandro Castelli — 30.25 seconds
  12. Andrea Invernizzi — 33.22 seconds

Frame Carry

The Frame Carry event had a 75-second time cap, and four of the 12 strongmen failed to finish the 30-meter course within it. de Ruiter claimed back-to-back events as the lone athlete to finish sub-12 seconds.

  12. Alex Cristolovean — 5.65 meters

Log Lift

This event was for reps. Each strongman attempted to lift a 140-kilogram log as many times as possible within 60 seconds.

  1. Anders Aslak — Seven reps
  2. Andrea Invernizzi — Six reps
  3. Alessandro Castelli — Five reps
  4. Sebastian Kurek — Four reps
  5. Péter Juhász — Three reps
  6. Robert Topârceanu — Three reps
  7. Mika Törrö — Two reps
  8. Evans Aryee — Two reps
  9. Kane Francis — Two reps
  10. Kelvin de Ruiter — One rep
  11. Vladimir Comorovschi — Zero reps
  12. Alex Cristolovean — Zero reps

Atlas Stones

The Atlas Stones event consisted of five stones ranging in weight from 120 to 180 kilograms. Athletes attempted to load all five in the fastest time possible.

  2. Kelvin de Ruiter — Five in 29.25 seconds
  3. Mika Törrö — Five in 29.43 seconds
  4. Evans Aryee — Five in 65.59 seconds
  5. Péter Juhász — Four in 17.58 seconds
  6. Sebastian Kurek — Four in 31.99 seconds
  7. Robert Topârceanu — Four in 32.15 seconds
  8. Anders Aslak — Four in 61.12 seconds
  9. Alex Cristolovean — Three in 46.99 seconds
  10. Alessandro Castelli — Two in 14.99 seconds
  11. Andrea Invernizzi — Two in 20.77 seconds
  12. Vladimir Comorovschi — One in 5.52 seconds
