A Look Back at Olga Liashchuk’s 2022 World’s Strongest Woman Victory

The Ukrainian beat runner-up Andrea Thompson by four points.

The 2022 World’s Strongest Woman (WSW) contest took place over two days from Nov. 12-13, 2022, in Daytona Beach, FL. After seven events — Viking Press, Farmer’s Walk, Deadlift, Sandbag to Shoulder, Car Walk, Dumbbell Medley, and Atlas Stones — Olga Liashchuk of Ukraine rose above the field to take home the 2022 WSW title.

Liashchuk won three of the seven events — Sandbag to Shoulder, Car Walk, Atlas Stones — en route to her contest victory. It was a one-rank improvement from her runner-up performance at the 2021 WSW contest.

  1. Olga Liashchuk (Ukraine) — 55.5 points
  2. Andrea Thompson (UK) — 51.5 points
  3. Inez Carrasquillo (Puerto Rico) — 49 points
  4. Lucy Underdown (UK) — 46.5 points
  5. Gabi Dixson (USA) — 39.5 points
  6. Kiersten Scurlock-Nall (USA) — 36.5 points
  7. Jackie Osczevski (Canada) — 31.5 points
  8. Rebecca Roberts (UK) — 30 points
  9. Anna Harjapää (Sweden) — 22 points
  10. Stefanie Herod (USA) — 21 points

Viking Press

This was a max reps event with a 107-kilogram press.

  2. Rebecca Roberts — 18 reps

Farmer’s Walk

The goal was to traverse the course performing a 123-kilogram farmer’s walk in the fastest time possible.

Deadlift

The deadlift for reps event utilized 218 kilograms on an axle bar.

  3. Andrea Thompson — 10 reps (T-third)
  4. Olga Liashchuk — 10 reps (T-third)
  5. Rebecca Roberts — Eight reps (T-fifth)

Sandbag to Shoulder

There were four implements ranging in weight from 91 to 125 kilograms. Athletes were scored by time and then by the number of implements successfully lifted if they were unable to complete all four.

Car Walk

The car frame used for this yoke event was 318 kilograms.

This event consisted of six stones ranging in weight from 91 to 147 kilograms.
