Men’s Open Favorites to Watch
Below are the athletes to keep an eye on to stand out during callouts.
Vitor Hugo Boff
Boff was the 2022 Musclecontest Brazil Pro winner, and he made his Olympia debut at the 2022 Mr. Olympia contest in Las Vegas, NV, in December. He placed out of the top 15 in that contest. Boff was the runner-up to Rafael Brandao in the 2022 edition of this contest.
Emir Omeragic
Omeragic was fifth in this contest in 2022. He placed sixth in the 2022 New York Pro. Experts have pegged him as a future star, and this contest could be his breakout appearance.
This will be Omeragic’s first contest of the 2023 season. He needs to win the show to move on to the Olympia. Only pro show winners qualify for the 2023 Olympia per the new Olympia qualification standards.
Behrooz Tabani
Tabani has only one pro appearance under his belt: the 2021 Romania Muscle Fest Pro. He placed third in that show behind the winner, Brandao, and runner-up Samson Dauda, who has since won the 2023 Arnold Classic. If Tabani can hold his own in a show with those competitors, he should score well in this contest.
Other Notes
The winner of the Men’s Wheelchair division will qualify for the 2023 Wheelchair Olympia. None of the four bodybuilders in the lineup are qualified at the time of this article’s publication.
There is an amateur bodybuilding contest with IFBB pro cards issued to the winners — the prerequisite for competing in pro shows that offer qualification to the Olympia.
