2023 Arnold Strongman Classic Day Two
The second and final day of competition is underway. So far, American Bobby Thompson is in the lead followed closely by Canadian Mitchell Hooper. Bobby Thompson, also of the U.S. follows in third.
The final three events are the Elephant Bar Deadlift, Steintossen Stone Throw, and the classic Timber Carry.
Elephant Bar Deadlift Results
The second day opened with the Elephant Bar Deadlift event that hyped up the crowd and brought some significant narrative shifts. Tom Stoltman did not seem at his best as he tended to what appeared to be a pinched hip. Pavlo Nakonechnyy — a favorite in the event — scored no points after it seemed as though a sustained hamstring injury kept him from locking out any reps.
- Bobby Thompson — 986 pounds
- Mitchell Hooper — 981 pounds
- Rob Kearney — 961 pounds
- Trey Mitchell — 941 pounds
- Kevin Faires — 901 pounds
- Thomas Evans — 856 pounds
- Luke Stoltman — 851 pounds
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 811 pounds
- Tom Stoltman — 801 pounds
- Pavlo Nakonechnyy — no rep
Steintossen Stone Throw Results
This event made its debut this year at the 2023 Arnold Strongman Classic, and the question was what kind of technique would the athletes employ. The strongmen saw some variations from the strongwomen who tossed right before them, but surely they had a plan from practicing the event in training. Here are the results:
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 11 feet, 4.5 inches
- Thomas Evans — 10 feet, seven inches
- Mitchell Hooper — 10 feet, five inches
- Pavlo Nakonechnyy — 10 feet, four inches
- Bobby Thompson — Nine feet, 11.5 inches
- Tom Stoltman — Nine feet, 8.5 inches

Austrian Oak Results
For this event, athletes had 90 seconds to lift as many reps as possible with 195 kilograms (430 pounds). Competitors can also opt for a 175-kilogram (386-pound)
This one was exciting, folks. Particularly when Mitchell Hooper of Canada mustered three very technical reps after nearly fumbling his second press. The energy around the stage seemed electric, and it felt like Hooper achieved something amazing by tying American Log Press record holder Bobby Thompson. However, Trey Mitchell, who hails from Texas, stepped up and blasted through four reps.
- Trey Mitchell — 4 reps (195 kilograms)
- Mitchell Hooper — 3 reps (195 kilograms)
- Bobby Thompson — 3 reps (195 kilograms)
- Rob Kearney — 2 reps (195 kilograms)
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 1 rep (195 kilograms)
- Pavlo Nakonechnyy — 1 rep (195 kilograms)
- Tom Stoltman — 1 rep (195 kilograms)
- Tom Evans — 1 rep (195 kilograms)
- Luke Stoltman — 6 reps (175 kilograms)
- Kevin Faires — 3 reps (175 kilograms)
