Two-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Breon Ansley hasn’t retired from competitive bodybuilding but has already started a new career as a pro show promoter. One namesake show is the 2023 MGB Mexico Grand Battle Pro, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
This show features Classic Physique athletes who will battle for the title and qualification to the 2023 Classic Physique Olympia, part of the 2023 Olympia Weekend, on Nov. 2-5, 2023, in Orlando, FL. This is one of three Classic Physique contests happening worldwide this weekend. The other two are at the Tokyo Pro in Tokyo, Japan, and the 2023 Masters Olympia in Cluj, Romania.

Julian Castano
Julian Castano is entering his third contest of the year. He was second at the 2023 Sur Pro Cup Colombia show and fourth at the 2023 Mid-USA Pro. He was eligible to compete in the 2022 Olympia, thanks to his win at the Argentina Sur Cup Pro, but he didn’t compete in the contest. If he wins this show, he can make his Olympia debut in Orlando. Unlike the 2022 season, only winners can qualify for the 2023 Olympia.
Tony Duong
Tony Duong is one of the veterans in this lineup. The eighth-year pro wants to secure his second win and Olympia appearance. He finished the 2022 Olympia outside of the top 15. He has competed twice so far in 2023, placing fifth in the 2023 Tupelo Pro and sixth in the 2023 Texas Pro.
Jorge Herrera
Jorge Herrera represents the host country in this event and seeks to qualify for the Olympia for the second straight year. He placed second at the 2023 Mile High Pro in his only appearance of the season so far. None of the 25 men who have qualified for the 2023 Classic Physique Olympia are from Mexico. Herrera could change that with his second pro win (his first was the 2021 Legion Sports Fest Pro).
