2023 Ultimate Scotland’s Strongest Man Results — Louis Jack Wins

Jack beat 11 other of Scotland's best to claim the gold.

The 2023 Ultimate Scotland’s Strongest Man (SSM) contest took place on July 2, 2023, in Grangemouth, United Kingdom. Twelve of the country’s best strongmen competed across five events — Duck Walk for Time, Car Deadlift for Reps, Block Medley Press, Truck Push, and the Atlas Stones.

Louis Jack emerged victorious by one point over runner-up Chris Beetham. Callum Crozier rounded out the podium four points behind Jack. The final standings are below:

2023 Ultimate Scotland’s Strongest Man

  1. Louis Jack — 54 points
  2. Chris Beetham — 53 points
  3. Callum Crozier — 50 points
  4. Stephen Jackson — 36 points
  5. Lee Walker — 32.5 points
  6. Connor Monaghan — 32 points
  7. Scott Milne — 29 points
  8. Liam Goldie — 23 points
  9. Peej Greenhough — 23 points
  10. Leon Patterson — 14.5 points
  11. Robert McMillan — 13 points
  12. Mikey Wilson — Four points

2023 Ultimate Scotland’s Strongest Man Event Results

Below are the results of each of the five events contested in Grangemouth:

Duck Walk for Time

Each strongman had 75 seconds to carry the 200-kilogram weight as far down the 60-meter course as possible. Only Beetham completed the course within the time cap.

  1. Chris Beetham — 60 meters in 74.59 seconds
  2. Callum Crozier — 53 meters
  3. Scott Milne — 52.5 meters
  4. Stephen Jackson — 49.6 meters
  5. Louis Jack — 47.96 meters
  6. Leon Patterson — 44.2 meters
  7. Robert McMillan — 43.7 meters
  8. Connor Monaghan — 43.42 meters.
  9. Mikey Wilson — 43.4 meters
  10. Liam Goldie — 30.2 meters
  11. Lee Walker — 30 meters
  12. Peej Greenhough — 27.2 meters

Car Deadlift for Reps

Each athlete attempted to deadlift the 310-kilogram vehicle for as many reps as possible within the 75-second time limit.

  1. Callum Crozier — 14 reps
  2. Scott Milne — 13 reps
  3. Louis Jack — 11 reps
  4. Chris Beetham — 10 reps
  5. Connor Monaghan — Eight reps
  6. Robert McMillan — Seven reps
  7. Stephen Jackson — Six reps
  8. Lee Walker — Five reps (T-eighth)
  9. Leon Patterson — Five reps (T-eighth)
  10. Peej Greenhough — Three reps
  11. Liam Goldie — no lift
  12. Mikey Wilson — withdrew

Block Medley Press

The Block Press Medley was comprised of four implements weighing 80, 90, 100, and 110 kilograms. Each athlete attempted to successfully clean each block as quickly as possible within the 75-second time cap.

  1. Louis Jack — Four in 42.72 seconds
  2. Chris Beetham — Four in 74.86 seconds
  3. Callum Crozier — Three in 64.14 seconds
  4. Peej Greenhough — Two in 26.89 seconds
  5. Scott Milne — Two in 34.01 seconds
  6. Lee Walker — Two in 37.37 seconds
  7. Connor Monaghan — Two in 48.06 seconds
  8. Liam Goldie — Two in 75 seconds
  9. Stephen Jackson — One in 14.91 seconds
  10. Leon Patterson — One in 40.45 seconds
  11. Robert McMillan — withdrew
  12. Mikey Wilson — withdrew

Truck Push

Each strongman made an attempt to push the 8,000-kilogram vehicle down the 40-meter course as fast as possible within 75 seconds.

  1. Louis Jack — 31.7 meters
  2. Lee Walker — 24.8 meters
  3. Chris Beetham — 24.4 meters
  4. Liam Goldie — 23.6 meters
  5. Stephen Jackson — 20.8 meters
  6. Callum Crozier — 20.74 meters
  7. Connor Monaghan — 20.4 meters
  8. Peej Greenhough — 16.28 meters
  9. Scott Milne — no lift
  10. Leon Patterson — no lift
  11. Robert McMillan — withdrew
  12. Mikey Wilson — withdrew

Atlas Stones

The last event of the competition featured 100, 115, 130, 145, and 160-kilogram stones to be lifted to a four-foot, six-inch platform as fast as possible.

  1. Chris Beetham — Five in 51.05 seconds
  2. Liam Goldie — Four in 40.71 seconds
  3. Connor Monaghan — Four in 31.77 seconds
  4. Lee Walker — Four in 25.01 seconds
  5. Stephen Jackson — Four in 24.06 seconds
  6. Peej Greenhough — Three in 23.12 seconds
  7. Louis Jack — Five in 21.18 seconds
  8. Callum Crozier — Four in 18.09 seconds
  9. Leon Patterson — withdrew
  10. Scott Milne — withdrew
  11. Robert McMillan — withdrew
  12. Mikey Wilson — withdrew
