The 2023 Shaw Classic will occur on August 19-20, 2023, in Loveland, CO. The contest will feature 16 of the world’s top strongmen, including the show’s namesake, four-time World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Brian Shaw. This contest will be the final contest of Shaw’s career.
On March 24, 2023, Shaw took to his YouTube channel to reveal the events comprising the fourth edition of the Shaw Classic. Check it out below:

2023 Shaw Classic Events
- Log Medley
- Max Hummer Tire Deadlift
- Wheelbarrow and Arm-Over-Arm Medley
- Bag Toss
- Car Leg Press
- Atlas Stones
- Bench Press
- Fingal’s Fingers and Power Stairs Medley
The Log Medley will be similar to how it was done in the 2022 Shaw Classic. There will be three logs of ascending weight. Athletes may choose to lift any of the logs. A single rep with a heavier log will always rank higher than any number of reps on a lighter log.
The Bench Press event is new to the Shaw Classic and will involve a new apparatus allowing the lifters to press while standing upright. At the time of Shaw’s announcement, the apparatus for this event has not yet been fully built.
While the Atlas Stones is an event at the 2023 Shaw Classic, it will not be the finale as it typically is in most other strongman contests. The final event of the 2023 Shaw Classic will be the Fingal’s Fingers and Power Stairs Medley. The number of implements and weights of those implements for the event have not yet been determined by Shaw and his team at the time of this article’s publication.
