2024 Britain’s Strongest Man Results — Tom Stoltman Triumphs

Tom Stoltman wins this contest for the third time in his career.

Tom Stoltman reclaims the crown in Britain. The 2024 Britain’s Strongest Man (BSM) contest occurred on Jan. 27, 2024, in Sheffield, England. It pitted 12 of the country’s elite strongmen against each other through five events: Deadlift, Axle Press, Carry & Hoist, Sandbag Toss, and Atlas Stones.

Two-time World’s Strongest Man (WSM) champion Tom Stoltman emerged with the overall gold at the conclusion of the single-day contest, achieving 56 of a possible 60 points. It is the third time he’s won this contest (previous wins were in 2021-22). The final standings are below:

  1. Tom Stoltman — 56 points
  2. Gavin Bilton — 47.5 points
  3. Luke Stoltman — 46 points
  4. Shane Flowers — 43.5 points
  5. Kane Francis — 37 points
  6. Adam Bishop — 34.5 points
  7. Pa O’Dwyer — 34 points
  8. Paul Smith — 25.5 points
  9. Sean Gillen — 25 points
  10. Paddy Haynes — 19.5 points
  11. Mark Felix — 10 points
  12. Conor Curran — 2.5 points

2024 Britain’s Strongest Man Event Results

Below are the results for each of the five contested events:

Deadlift

Athletes attempted to lift 400 of 360 kilograms for reps in a 75-second time limit. A single rep at 400 kilograms ranked better than any number of reps at 360 kilograms.

  1. Adam Bishop — Five reps (400 kilograms) + One rep (360 kilograms)
  2. Tom Stoltman — Five reps (400 kilograms)
  3. Gavin Bilton — Three reps (400 kilograms) + One rep (360 kilograms)
  4. Shane Flowers — Three reps (400 kilograms)
  5. Luke Stoltman — Two reps (400 kilograms) + Two reps (360 kilograms) (T-fifth)
  6. Pa O’Dwyer — Two reps (400 kilograms) + Two reps (360 kilograms) (T-fifth)
  7. Kane Francis — Two reps (400 kilograms) + One rep (360 kilograms)
  8. Sean Gillen — One rep (400 kilograms) + One rep (360 kilograms) (T-eighth)
  9. Paddy Haynes — One rep (400 kilograms) + One rep (360 kilograms) (T-eighth)
  10. Paul Smith — One rep (400 kilograms) (T-10th)
  11. Conor Curran — One rep (400 kilograms) (T-10th)
  12. Mark Felix — Two reps (360 kilograms)

Axle Press

Athletes had 75 seconds to lock out as many reps of 160 kilograms as possible.

  1. Tom Stoltman — Five reps
  2. Gavin Bilton — Four reps (T-second)
  3. Luke Stoltman — Four reps (T-second)
  4. Paul Smith — Three reps
  5. Shane Flowers — Two reps (T-fifth)
  6. Adam Bishop — Two reps (T-fifth)
  7. Pa O’Dwyer — Two reps (T-fifth)
  8. Sean Gillen — Two reps (T-fifth)
  9. Kane Francis — One rep
  10. Paddy Haynes — no lift
  11. Conor Curran — no lift
  12. Mark Felix — no attempt

Carry & Hoist

Athletes had 60 seconds to perform an anvil carry and a six-meter vertical lift.

  1. Tom Stoltman — 27.72 seconds
  2. Luke Stoltman — 27.77 seconds
  3. Kane Francis — 28.01 seconds
  4. Gavin Bilton — 28.55 seconds
  5. Shane Flowers — 28.59 seconds
  6. Pa O’Dwyer — 29.26 seconds
  7. Paul Smith — 30.61 seconds
  8. Sean Gillen — 30.88 seconds
  9. Adam Bishop — 31.68 seconds
  10. Mark Felix — 34.53 seconds
  11. Paddy Haynes — 36.08 seconds
  12. Conor Curran — withdrew

Sandbag Toss

Athletes had 60 seconds to toss six implements weighing 18 to 28 kilograms onto a 4.5-meter platform.

  1. Shane Flowers — Six in 13.65 seconds
  2. Gavin Bilton — Six in 14.86 seconds
  3. Adam Bishop — Six in 15.94 seconds
  4. Tom Stoltman — Six in 17.63 seconds
  5. Kane Francis — Five in 16.63 seconds
  6. Pa O’Dwyer — Five in 20.73 seconds
  7. Luke Stoltman — Five in 23.90 seconds
  8. Paul Smith — Four in 12.18 seconds
  9. Sean Gillen — Four in 21.68 seconds
  10. Paddy Haynes — Four in 26.20 seconds
  11. Mark Felix — Four in 57.70 seconds
  12. Conor Curran — withdrew

Atlas Stones

Each strongman had one minute to load five stones weighing 120 to 200 kilograms onto their respective pedestals.

  1. Tom Stoltman — Five in 23.70 seconds
  2. Gavin Bilton — Four in 21.57 seconds
  3. Luke Stoltman — Five in 26.49 seconds
  4. Shane Flowers — Four in 21.23 seconds
  5. Kane Francis — Five in 32.38 seconds
