The European Powerlifting Federation (EPF) held its 2024 Western European Powerlifting Championships (WEC) in St Paul’s Bay, Malta, from Sept. 13-15, 2024. The WEC, in conjunction with the EU Cup which preceded it, has been running since 1994 and allows participation from 20 countries:

- Ade Omisakin (classic 83KG class) broke the Open total world record with 861 kilograms.
- Saheed Aregbe (classic 83KG class) attempted the open deadlift world record with 380.5 kilograms. It was unsuccessful but pretty close.
- Close battle in the classic 57KG class, with Evita Otigbah pulling for the win
- Lauren Elder (equipped 63KG class) deadlifting a WEC record of 195.5 kilograms to win by a half kilogram.
