Alcione Santos Barreto won the 2025 Alina Popa Classic Pro. Barreto was one of eight women’s bodybuilders who competed in the contest on Sunday, Aug. 31, in Bucharest, Romania, for a 2025 Ms. Olympia qualification was on the line.
2025 Alina Popa Classic Pro Results
- Alcione Santos Barreto (Brazil)
- Nadia Capotosto (Italy)
- Virginia Sanchez Macias (Spain)
- Jannicke Kirkelund (Norway)
- Emilia Balkova (Bulgaria)
- Alida Opre (Hungary)
- Uta Kohler-Spitzbart (Germany)
- Cristina Arellano Goy (USA)
Winner — Alcione Santos Barreto
Barreto was seen as the clear winner when she walked onstage and earned a perfect score on the scorecards. Thanks to winning the 2025 Mr. Big Evolution Pro, she was already qualified for the 2025 Ms. Olympia. Her win here blocked another potential contender from qualifying for the Olympia. Only pro show winners advance to Las Vegas.
Second Place — Nadia Capotosto
Capotosto previously qualified for the Olympia by winning the 2025 Toronto Pro Supershow, so her qualification was not at risk for this contest.
Third Place — Virginia Sanchez Macias
Sanchez is in a compromising position. She won bronze but has yet to qualify for the 2025 Olympia. The cutoff for qualifying is Sept. 14, 2025, meaning she must win a pro show by then to realize the Olympia dream.
Other Notes
Two pro shows are left for competitors to qualify for the 2025 Ms. Olympia, and they are on the same weekend. The 2025 Rising Phoenix will offer qualifications to its top three, set for Sept. 13 in Mesa, AZ. The final show is the 2025 Europa Pro Championships in Offenbach, Germany, on Sept. 14.
