Comparing the 2025 CrossFit Games and WFP Rosters – Which Field Is Deeper?

Written by Emily Beers
Last updated on June 30th, 2025

The CrossFit Games have crowned the Fittest Man and Fittest Woman on Earth since its inaugural competition in 2007. However, this year looks different.

  • With new opportunities to compete against top-tier fields on the World Fitness Project (WFP) Tour, athlete pools at in-person events shifted from what we grew accustomed to in 2025.

While fans now have more chances to watch their favorite athletes compete, questions abound about the strength of each field.

Below, we’re stacking the roster for the CrossFit Games against the 30 men and 30 women leading the WFP after Tour Event I in order to compare them.

In order to do this, we considered four metrics:

  1. Athletes with at least one CrossFit Games podium finish.
  2. Athletes with at least one top 10 CrossFit Games finish.
  3. Athletes with more than two CrossFit Games appearances.
  4. Athletes with no individual CrossFit Games experience.

In each category — on both the men’s and women’s side, without exception — the WFP has the edge. Here’s how it all breaks down.

The Big Picture

When it comes to experience and credentials, at least on paper, the WFP seems to have the stronger roster this season. Of course, this is just one breakdown using one set of metrics.

The CrossFit Games still has something the WFP doesn’t: The G.O.A.T., Toomey-Orr, who announced recently that she will be aiming for her eighth CrossFit Games title in Albany, NY, this August.
