The second workout for the 2025 CrossFit Games just dropped on social media, and it packs a heavy punch.
- Presented by Velites, “Event 2” includes wall walks, dumbbell shoulder to overhead, double-under crossovers, and toes-to-bar.
Remind me: “Event 1” was revealed earlier than in any previous Games season, and will take place on Friday morning, kicking off the weekend.
- That workout consists of a four-mile run, followed by a 3000-meter row, and finishes with a two-mile run.
Crossovers return: On an episode of his Week in Review series earlier this month, Dave Castro announced that crossovers would return to the Games in 2025, marking their second appearance.
Double-under crossovers were first programmed in 2022 during the Skill Speed Medley, challenging many athletes who struggled to perform them. Since then, athletes have incorporated them into their training and are now ready to showcase their skills.
Event 2 breakdown: The workout will be completed for time, with the athletes moving from one end of the competition floor to the other.
For time:
- 20 wall walks
- 10 DB shoulder-to-overhead
- 20 double-under crossovers
- 30 toes-to-bar

Time cap: 10 minutes
Women will be working with a 70-pound dumbbell, and men will use a 100-pound dumbbell.
A video shared on the CrossFit Games YouTube channel provides a behind-the-scenes look at the evolution of the workout.
Castro originally intended to program it as a triplet with a C2 bike, toes-to-bar, and DB shoulder-to-overhead. Ben Smith, Rafael Sancen, and Alison Scudds helped with the testing of the workout that eventually became what’s programmed after a few similar iterations.
