The 2022 International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Classic Championships in Sun City, South Africa, witnessed another IPF world record fall. This time, it was in the hands of 83-kilogram lifter Asein Enahoro of Hungary. On his second deadlift attempt, Enahoro successfully locked out a raw IPF world record of 362.5 kilograms (799.2 pounds) en route to a bronze medal. Here were Enahoro’s results:

Enahoro’s third deadlift attempt is also shown in the video. He called for 385 kilograms ( pounds) on the barbell — 22.5 kilograms more than the IPF world record he set moments before to potentially leap into first place overall. He got the barbell above his knees, but the grip of his left hand didn’t hold to secure the down call from the judge.
Enahoro’s IPF world record deadlift surpassed the previous IPF world record of 336 kilograms (740.8 pounds), also held by Enahoro. According to Open Powerlifting, Enahoro scored that lift at the 2021 IPF World Classic Championships, ranking 12th overall. His new IPF world record raw deadlift was 4.4 times his official bodyweight of 82.25 kilograms.
