Rich Froning Accepts Individual Invite to Compete at 2019 CrossFit Games
After repeated calls to return to individual competition, Rich Froning has finally decided to give the fans what they’ve been asking for.
In an exclusive interview, the four-time CrossFit Games champion revealed that he has accepted his individual invite to compete at the 2019 CrossFit Games.
- Froning: “After 2014, I really needed a break from individual competition. Leading three teams to Affiliate Cup championships has actually made me a better all around athlete without the wear and tear on my body. Now I’m ready to get back to it, and I have no plans on walking away without the top spot in Madison.”
Froning’s Open Performances by the Numbers:
- 2011 Open: 3rd
- 2012 Open: 1st
- 2013 Open: 1st
- 2014 Open: 1st
- 2015 Open: 2nd
- 2016 Open: 2nd
- 2017 Open: 11th
- 2018 Open: 10th
- 2019 Open: 10th
Under the new rules, Froning’s 10th place Open finish worldwide grants him an automatic berth to the 2019 CrossFit Games.
But here’s the thing you REALLY need to pay attention to:
This is all a hoax. April Fool’s Day!
But since we have your attention, there’s a really awesome cause called Mayhem for MSR that we think you should support:
- Mayhem for MSR is a fundraiser for the Mustard Seed Ranch, a Christian ministry designed to take children out of unsafe environments and into loving, nurturing homes. This is the sixth year of Mayhem’s fundraiser to support this Cookeville-based ministry.
- Since opening in 2009, a total of 51 children have been taken into Mustard Seed Ranch, which exists entirely on private contributions; no state money at all. 14 kids have graduated from high school. They have helped 12 families re-unify and have been awarded one of the best children’s homes in the state of Tennessee.
- Nearly at capacity, Mustard Seed Ranch needs help building two more homes on the property so they can welcome another family of kids.
The bottom line: Without the Mustard Seed Ranch, the only other option these kids have is the foster system. And for as little as $1 you can support their mission to provide a loving, caring home where these kids can grow up safe. Here’s how to make a difference.
