When you’re an all-time great powerlifter, you must push the bounds of what seems reasonably possible for humankind bound by gravity and comprised of flesh, muscle, and bone. When your name is Zahir Kudayarov, the physical limits others face appear not to carry the same burden.
On Oct. 30, 2024, the 41-year-old Kudayarov shared an Instagram post wherein he wore knee wraps and a lifting belt and squatted 300 kilograms (661 pounds) for a staggering 10 reps in training. Check it out below:

Kudayarov walked the 300-kilogram bar in and out of the squat rack and never appeared to have any difficulty on any rep despite slowing toward the latter of the set. During moments of pause, he rebraced before continuing the set. His stamina was on display, and the steadiness with which he lifted the final reps should be informative of the caliber at which he’s currently training.
“My dream is to break this record, and I will do it,” Kudayarov wrote in his caption, citing 525 kilograms as the mark to beat. He’s referring to the heaviest squat ever recorded in the raw w/wraps powerlifting category.
According to Open Powerlifting, Vladislav Alhazov achieved a 525-kilogram squat in the superheavyweight class at the 2018 World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) Adrenaline Grand Prix in Minsk, Belarus.
Kudayarov is no stranger to all-time powerlifting world records. Although he hasn’t competed in the 125KG class since 2018, his all-time world record total of 1,112.5 kilograms still stands at the time of this article’s publication. He achieved that mark at the 2015 FPO Paimio Power Weekend meet in Paimio, Finland.
When Kudayarov decides to step on the competitive lifting platform next, the entire powerlifting world should take notice. He may very well call for a new all-time world record squat to be loaded onto the bar, and given how his training looks, he could lockout another historic record-shattering squat.
