Red Bull Hosts Fitness Club Pop-Up in Miami Beach, Continues to Expand Reach into Fitness Market

No other energy drink brand has the visibility and reach of Red Bull.

It was the first and only of its kind for years (beginning in 1987). While other brands have gained some traction in the market, Red Bull continues to lead the way with product innovation, community gatherings, and unique events.

  • Recently, Red Bull has been pushing into the fitness scene. It supports competitive fitness athletes and hosts training events nationwide, drawing in athletes of diverse backgrounds and CrossFitters.

Last weekend, Red Bull hosted the Red Bull Fitness Club pop-up in Miami Beach, FL. Games legend Noah Ohlsen, a calisthenics athlete and influencer, hosted a group fitness experience alongside Chris Heria.

Some Background

Last month, Ohlsen joined fellow CrossFit elites Laura Horvath and Jonne Koski as an official Red Bull athlete. The announcement of this partnership was huge for Ohlsen and the sport of competitive fitness, as another non-endemic CrossFit brand invests in CrossFit athletes and training.

This had been Ohlsen’s and his team’s goal for a long time.

  • “That’s something that from the beginning of my career, Bijan (Heravi) and I were open to the idea of and pursuing is – how do we grow our space? Because the more brands we can bring in from the outside, the more eyes will get on the sport,” Ohlsen told Morning Chalk Up.

Ohlsen joins an exclusive club of CrossFit legends and a roster of professional BMX bikers, skiers, cliff divers, F1 racers, and surfers, to name a few.  It’s a group of athletes whose diversity of backgrounds, sports, and modalities speaks to the brand’s global reach.

  • “So being able to partner with a brand like Red Bull, which is one of the most recognized and well-respected brands out there, is huge. Not just for me, but hopefully the rest of the community, the sport, and the athletes that are in it,” Ohlsen said.

Red Bull Fitness Club Miami Beach

As part of its growing presence in the fitness realm, Red Bull has been hosting pop-up fitness clubs throughout the United States, including in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.

While the invitees were not solely CrossFitters — there were some of us in the crowd — we found ourselves alongside bodybuilders, runners, calisthenics athletes, personal trainers, weightlifters, and powerlifters.

  • The event was a collective celebration of fitness, with community members and leaders joining together for a workout.

It was a breath of fresh air for all of us – to be outside the gym, meet new people, gain a different perspective, and leave feeling connected and inspired.

Earning His “Wiings”

While Ohlsen hopes to have a long and successful competitive career ahead of him, he looks forward to pursuing other challenges and pursuing new goals. He is motivated in large part by Red Bull’s ethos and support.

  • “I think that prior, I was just a CrossFit athlete, but now I think I’m evolving into a fitness athlete, which hopefully is all-encompassing. I’ve been stepping into the endurance world and connected with other athletes and those with whom Red Bull works,” he told us.

Ohlsen feels that this all allows him to tell stories and share his experience, try out new things, and enter new spaces for this next phase of his career.

  • “When I…did an Ironman, I prepped for a few months, did the absolute best I could on race day, and was still four hours slower than the guys that are the world champions at the sport.”
  • “So I was like, OK, I’m used to being the best in the world at this one thing for the last decade – It’s going to be hard to step into a sport and be the best in the world at it, so once I had that reality check, I was like OK – I can still step into something, pursue it, get better at it, maybe not be the best in the world at it, but share the process of being a beginner and trying something that maybe you’re a little intimidated by. Hopefully, that inspires people to do the same,” Ohlsen said.

We assured him that it truly does. Ohlsen responded:

  • “Well, that inspires me to want to do more than that; Red Bull is pushing me to step beyond my niche and out of my comfort zone.
