Brandon Curry may follow up the 2025 Arnold Classic with a trip to the 2025 Masters Olympia. The 2019 Mr. Olympia winner and two-time Arnold Classic champion ranked fourth at the 2025 Arnold Classic, which was held from Feb. 28 through March 1, 2025, and won by Derek Lunsford. Many experts felt Curry improved from his ninth-place finish at the 2024 Mr. Olympia.
Following the contest, multiple outlets reported that Curry would enter the Masters Olympia, set for Aug. 9-10, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan. BarBend reached out to Curry for more information about his entry, and he expressed interest in entering the show:
“If everything goes right, then yes,” Curry replied, indicating a full commitment to the contest is slightly premature.
Curry’s entry into the Masters Olympia has short- and long-term benefits. He has been in the pro ranks since he debuted in 2010 at the Europa Pro Supershow, making him one of the most senior athletes competing at the highest levels.
The 2019 Sandow Trophy winner is eligible for life to enter the Olympia but must request permission from the IFBB Pro League to enter the 2025 Olympia since he has exceeded the five-year window post-Olympia win. That five-year window closed at the 2024 Olympia, won by Samson Dauda. If Curry wins a pro contest with an Olympia qualifier attached, he wouldn’t need to submit that request to the IFBB to compete.
The 42-year-old Tennessee native could make bodybuilding history by entering and winning the Masters Olympia. If he were to win it, he would be the second athlete to win the Mr. Olympia, Masters Olympia, and Arnold Classic in his career. The first was Dexter Jackson, who won the Sandow Trophy in 2008, the Masters Olympia in 2012, and five Arnold Classic titles.
The final roster for the 2025 Masters Olympia will be announced later this year, but a specific date has not been announced as of this article’s publication.
