2025 CrossFit Open Results — Mirjam von Rohr and Colten Mertens Top the Leaderboard From Start to Finish

Before we head into the next part of the season, let's see who came out on top at the Open.

The battle for the top spot in the 2025 CrossFit Open was a close one on the women’s side, with only one point separating first and second place.

The men saw one of the most dominant performances in history, with second place still only 11 points behind.

Here’s a look at how the final week played out, who took home the overall wins, and the prize purse in both divisions.

CrossFit Open 25.3 Results

It is rare that a score from the live Open announcement ends up as the best of the week. Dallin Pepper accomplished that by setting the fastest time on Thursday and dangling it like a carrot for the rest of the world to chase.

“I think I put up a great time, and if you want to beat it, go ahead and try,” he said on the Thursday night broadcast last week.

Try they did, but his score held up.

  1. Dallin Pepper – 9:21
  2. Colten Mertens – 9:37
  3. James Sprague – 9:43

On the women’s side, 2023 Games Rookie of the Year Olivia Kerstetter is known for moving a barbell. The 19-year-old combined that with fast wall walks and powerful rowing to finish the Open on a high note.

  1. Olivia Kerstetter – 10:18
  2. Andrea Solberg – 10:32
  3. Vår Thurmann-Moe – 10:43

2025 CrossFit Open Overall Results

Mirjam von Rohr took the overall win on the women’s side with 13 points, one point ahead of two-time Games athlete Fee Saghafi.

Von Rohr earned her victory by netting back-to-back first-place finishes in 25.1 and 25.2 and an 11th in 25.3. She now joins Sam Briggs, Sara Sigmundsdottir, and Mal O’Brien on the short list of women who have won the Open in back-to-back years.

The 23-year-old from Switzerland was previously on the HYROX circuit, having won the 2022 HYROX European Championships.

In 2024, she shifted her focus to CrossFit with the goal of making the Games. She won the Open and then qualified for the European Semifinal by placing 16th in Quarterfinals, winning one of the four workouts worldwide.

Ultimately, she finished in 18th place in the Europe Semifinal, missing out on a Games ticket.

In the meantime, she won the 2024 iF3 World Championship and looks poised to make a run again this year.

In second place was Fee Saghafi, who achieved the highest ranking in her Open career to date. She was the only woman to finish in the top 10 in all three workouts.

Here are the top five:

1. Mirjam von Rohr – 13 points ($14,720)
2. Fee Saghafi – 14 points ($8,832)
3. Lucy Campbell – 30 points ($5,888)
4. Andrea Solberg – 34 points
5. Carolyne Prevost – 42 points

Colten Mertens was a man on a mission in the men’s division. In the end, he was just 16 seconds shy of being the first athlete in history to win all the workouts in a given year.

A three-time Games competitor, Mertens placed just outside of a CrossFit Games qualifying spot at the 2024 West Coast Classic.

Last year marked the first time in history that both the male and female winners of the Open did not qualify for the CrossFit Games.

Mertens (as well as von Rohr) are on a path to make sure that is not repeated this year.

  1. Colten Mertens – 4 points ($14,720)
  2. Dallin Pepper – 15 points ($8,832)
  3. Jeff Adler – 16 points ($5,888)
  4. Austin Hatfield – 21 points
  5. Cale Layman – 30 points

2025 CrossFit Open Prize Money

The total prize purse for the season is based on the total number of people registered for the Open. The final number is 235,524. Fifty percent of the registration fee goes to the prize purse. Five percent of that number goes to the top performers in the Open.

The total prize money for the Open this year is $117,762 and is allocated as follows:

Overall Finishers – $58,881

  • 1st Place – $14,720.25
  • 2nd Place – $8,832.15
  • 3rd Place – $5,888.10

Individual Weekly Performances – $58,881

  • 1st Place – $4,906.75
  • 2nd Place – $2,944.05
  • 3rd Place – $2,747.78

By claiming two firsts and a second and winning the Open overall, Mertens earned an impressive total of $27,477. This is $7,281 more than the fifth-place finisher will earn at the 2025 CrossFit Games.

Dave Castro discussed the Open prize purse on his latest Week in Review.

  • “For the overall winners, it’s way higher. I don’t even think we had overall winners in the past.” Castro said.

They did. In fact, CrossFit paid out the top five overall finishers last year:

  • First earned $15,000
  • Second earned $10,000
  • Third earned $7500
  • Fourth earned $6000
  • Fifth earned $5000

That is a total of $87,000 across both divisions.

Castro may have meant that the amount given to weekly performances is substantially higher this year. Last year, they paid the winner of each week $2,024, for a total of $12,144 across both divisions for all three weeks. This year, they more than doubled that number and paid the top three.

The Bottom Line

With the Open wrapped, we now await the next stage of competition, the In-Affiliate Semifinals and the In-Person Semifinals, which will begin in less than a month.
