The reigning Reebok CrossFit Games Champions, Team Mayhem Freedom, won the first team event at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin. Team Mayhem Freedom earned their invite to this year’s Reebok CrossFit Games by way of the Asia CrossFit Sanctionals™ in April.
Rich Froning is a familiar face on Team Mayhem Freedom. Froning is a four-time Reebok CrossFit Games champion (2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.) Froning and the rest of CrossFit Mayhem Freedom showed up ready to win, and looked strong, in sync, and like the reigning champs.

Here’s what the first team event consisted of:
- 3 rounds:
- 25/18 air bike calories
- 30 toes-to-bar
- Big Bob Push
Each team had four air bikes and four pull-up stations, and all athletes worked simultaneously. The order was all at once and the time cap was at 20 minutes.
Team Mayhem Freedom finished in first place with a score of 15:55.92. They were the only team to finish below 16 minutes.
The X-Terminators from Australia finished in second place with a time of 16:25.03, and third place went to USA’s CrossFit Krypton with a time of 16:41.16.

14 teams earned invites to the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games, and Team Mayhem Freedom’s official roster ahead of the Reebok CrossFit Games looked like this. It’s worth noting that Ben Smith, listed as an alternate below earned a Wildcard invite to the 2019 Reebok Games.

Team scoring at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games will see the compeition start with `4 teams and everyone loses 7 points per placing on the first event. Event 2 will see 11 teams, event 3 will feature 9 teams, event 4 will have 7 teams, and event 5 will have just 5 teams.
