We haven’t seen powerlifter Cailer Woolam this excited in awhile. And his excitement comes with good reason, as just deadlifted an insane 435kg/959lbs for a lifetime person record.
We had a feeling another big pull was coming soon, because a couple weeks ago he pulled 425kg/937lbs for what was then his biggest deadlift in training. This trumps that milestone pretty incredibly, and we’re talking by 22 lbs more. We can’t wait to see what kind of numbers he puts up at his next meet.
A little less than a week ago, Woolam shared that he would be competing at the 2019 Sling Shot Record Breakers meet in Dublin, California. This is a two-day meet and kicks off on November 9th.
One of the best parts about this 435kg/959lbs deadlift is that Woolam said he still feels like he’s got some gas left in the tank. Check out the lift below,
435kg/959lbs. 9lb lifetime PR.
With a little left in the tank I believe. This one was worth getting a little excited about
The powerlifting community loves when Woolam posts his training videos. This video in particular took off, and with good reason. Check out what some of the other big names in the powerlifting community had to say about his lifetime PR.
How Other Lifters Reacted
Sarah Brenner, 84kg+ powerlifter: “Jeeeeeeesus. You got an adjustment then pulled 959?! I always feel like a Gumby noodle back after I get adjusted. I couldn’t imagine deadlifting after let alone hitting a PR.”
Jessica Buettner, 72kg powerlifter: “Holy hell that was fast.”
Kevin Oak, world record holding powerlifter: “Oak: sits back and cherishes his final days of having the 220 raw total.”
Currently, Woolam holds the 198 lb all-time deadlift world record from when he pulled 400kg/881 lb back in 2017 at the USPA Corpus Christi Open. He also holds the 220 lb all-time deadlift world record of 431kg/950 lbs which he set at the Kern US Open this past April.
After his latest PR, we have to wonder, what are we going to see Woolam deadlift next?
