CrossFit Games OGs Prove They’ve Still Got It in Age Group Semifinals

A lot of familiar faces are still going strong.

The Age Group Semifinal wrapped earlier this month, featuring over 2,500 athletes vying for invitations to the 2025 Divisional (Masters and Teens) CrossFit Games in Columbus, OH, later this summer.

Among the competitors were some familiar names on the leaderboard, evoking a sense of nostalgia for the sport’s early days.

  • Note: The leaderboard is not finalized yet, and placements may still change. CrossFit will finalize the leaderboard no later than April 21, as stated in the rulebook.

Reminder: The top 30 men and 30 women in each age division, excluding the upper divisions, will qualify. The top 20 male and female athletes in the 60-64 and 65-69 categories will advance to the Games, while only the top 10 in the 70+ division will move forward.

OGs on the Leaderboard

  • Scott Panchik
  • Sam Dancer
  • Rebecca Voigt Miller
  • Graham Holmberg
  • Marquan Jones
  • Emily Bridgers

Scott Panchik

Panchik is currently sitting in first place in the 35-39 men’s age division. He’s been an impressive athlete ever since retiring as an individual elite competitor back in 2021.

  • Panchik last competed at the 2023 Masters CrossFit Games, where he took fourth in the 35-39 division.

Sam Dancer

Dancer, the winner of the 35-39 age division in 2023, continues to be a strong competitor. He is currently sitting in 19th place on the Semifinals leaderboard.

Rebecca Voigt Miller

The legendary six-time Games veteran is looking to make an impressive seventh trip to the Age Group Games, and it seems likely. She’s currently sitting in 12th place in the 40-44 women’s age division.

Graham Holmberg

The 2010 CrossFit Games champion has continued to compete in the Open but hasn’t returned to the Games since 2015.

  • Holmberg competed in the men’s 40-44 age division and finished in 21st place. If he maintains this position following the video review, he will qualify for the Games for the first time in 10 years.

Marquan Jones

He has remained a competitive athlete but hasn’t returned to the Games since his appearance in 2018, where he placed 37th. He competed at the North America East Semifinal last year, finishing in 23rd place.

  • Jones is currently in eighth place in the 35-39 men’s division, likely securing him a spot at the Age-Group Games.

Emily Bridgers

While she is not in a qualifying position, another noteworthy OG is Emily Bridgers. She’s a five-time Games athlete but hasn’t been back on the Games floor since 2018.

  • Bridgers competed in the women’s 35-39 age division and is currently in 61st place.

The Bottom Line

The Age Group CrossFit Games not only provides community members with the opportunity to compete well into their 70s, but also allows elite athletes to maintain a competitive edge even beyond their so-called “prime.”
