Eight-time Figure Olympia champion Cydney Gillon will be inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame (ISHOF). Gillon was the first member of the Class of 2025 to be announced by ISHOF founder Dr. Robert Goldman.
“Eight-time Ms. Olympia Figure Champion Cydney Gillon is being inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame, led by Dr. Robert Goldman. As the only woman with eight consecutive titles, she joins Corey Everson and Lenda Murray as the third Ms. Olympia Champion in the Hall of Fame.”
Everson and Murray held the Ms. Olympia women’s bodybuilding title in their careers. Gillon is the first Figure Olympia champion and reigning Olympia champion from any category to be inducted. Despite Gillon committing to retirement, her reign will not end until a new Figure Olympia champion is crowned at the 2025 Olympia in October.
Other Olympia champions inducted since the ISHOF was founded in 2012 include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Franco Columbu, Lee Haney, Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, and Phil Heath, the most recent inductee in 2024.
Inductees are nominated and voted on through the ISHOF’s Global Advisory Board. According to their mission statement, the ISHOF recognizes inductees for contributions in and outside their chosen sports:
“The Hall of Fame celebrates their athletic achievements and emphasizes their post-career contributions to society. Inductees are recognized for their charitable endeavors and dedication to mentoring young people.”
Gillon holds the record for most Figure Olympia titles and is a two-time Figure International champion, including the contest’s final edition in 2022. After winning eight Olympia championships from 2017 to 2024, she announced her retirement from competition onstage in Las Vegas, NV, at the 60th Olympia.
Before reaching the pinnacle of her bodybuilding career, Gillon was best known for her role in Survivor: Kaôh Rōng, which aired in 2016. She ran track for the University of Pennsylvania from 2010 until 2014.
Gillon has remained in the fitness industry, running multiple businesses, including promoting the Triple O Dynasty bodybuilding show with five-time Ms. Olympia Andrea Shaw.
Gillon is the only confirmed member of the ISHOF Class of 2025 at the time of this article’s publication. She has not yet made any statement about the announcement. The rest of the Class of 2025 is expected to be announced later this year, with the induction ceremony at the 2025 Olympia in Las Vegas, NV, on Saturday, Oct. 11.
