Three-time World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman suffered a biceps injury during the 2025 Strongest Man on Earth contest. Stoltman was considered a top contender for the contest leading up to the weekend of Aug. 16-17, but finished in eighth place behind champion Evan Singleton.
In late August 2025, Stoltman shared how his biceps injury impacted his performance in Colorado. The initial issues leading to the injury may have been on a training day after he donated blood.
Stoltman had donated blood before, but did not usually train the same day. However, he did this time and felt a pop in his right arm after attempting to lift a 265-kilogram Atlas stone.
Stoltman noticed only slight soreness in his arm. Throughout the two days of competition in Loveland, the injury worsened, and he knew something was wrong during the Manhood Stones event.
When I lifted the 227 stone, I felt like my arm would blow off.

Stoltman knew he was “done” but kept it to himself and finished the competition. He ranked eighth in the Manhood Stones and the Trap Bar Deadlift, seventh in the Super Yoke, ninth in the Chest Press, and 11th in the Carry and Power Stairs Medley.
Stoltman displayed the bruising on his right arm, combined with the compression of wearing elbow sleeves during the competition. After returning to Scotland, he sought medical attention and confirmed he suffered an upper biceps tear near his shoulder.
Stoltman will not compete at the 2025 Giants Live Strongman Open in Birmingham, England, nor at the 2025 World Deadlift Championships.
