The Athlete Match-Up
As you’re well aware by now, CrossFit Games veteran Kristin Holte will be squaring off against CrossFit Games rookie Nicolay Billaudel on Thursday evening. So, who’s going to away away with the W?
Kristin Holte
Holte finished in second place at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games, and in total has competed at six Reebok CrossFit Games. This year was her best finish ever at the Games, and she’s already dominating the 2020 Open workouts and currently sits in second place overall. We’re excited to see what 20.3 brings, but we’re confident Holte will be ready for whatever the workout entails.
Nico Billaudel
Billaudel appeared in his first-ever Reebok CrossFit Games this past summer. He earned his invite by way of being crowned Norway’s National Champion. He ended up finishing 40th overall at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games. Currently he’s sitting in 48th place overall after 20.1 & 20.2.
It’s going to be fun to watch two of Norway’s fittest athletes go head-to-head, but this week’s workout will also have other athletes around the globe squaring off for the big announcement.
For example, The Down Under CrossFit Championship will be hosting an Australian battle between CrossFit Games athletes James Newbury and Madeline Sturt. Games.CrossFit.com will be showing this workout announcement.
Newbury finished in fifth place at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games and is a four-time Games competitor.
He’ll be taking on Sturt, who is a four-time CrossFit Games athlete and she finished in 23rd place at this year’s Games. This match-up will be streamed on CrossFit Games’ website. These two athletes will be doing the workout at CrossFit FX in Sydney, Australia.
