World Fitness Tour: 2025 Prize Purse, Point Breakdown, and Movement List

The World Fitness tour is gearing up for a big inaugural year.

Last week, World Fitness Project (WFP) athletes were sent a packet containing information regarding the upcoming season.

  • The document included a list of all the movements that could potentially be programmed in World Fitness Tour Events, the prize purse and point breakdown for the 2025 season, a list of contacts, and a statement from Medical and Safety Director Joshua Hicks.

Here is the full statement from Hicks:

  • “The World Fitness Project is searching for the best. We are placing safety into every aspect of the process with input from experts and resources along the way. Medical Teams will be assembled with some of the best professionals in the world and their talents will be added to our roster. While you are testing your fitness to the highest capacity possible, rest assured, that we are keeping a watchful eye on your performance and progress. Should the unfortunate situation arise that you need assistance, we will be there, prepared, available, and ready to give you our best as you lay your best on the competition floor! Your best is safe with us.”

Movements

The list of included movements is separated into multiple categories:

  • Barbell
  • Gymnastics
  • Monostructural
  • Burpees (variations)
  • Axle bar
  • Dumbbell
  • Kettlebell
  • Strongman
  • Other

We don’t see movements like burpee broad jumps, the axle bar hang power snatch, and pull-up bar complexes (toes-to-bar, pull-up, chest-to-bar, and bar muscle-up) in CrossFit competitions often, so this should offer some fresh twists for WFP athletes.

In the monostructural, the WFP will feature a mix of equipment, including the Rogue Echo Bike, the C2 Bike, and C2 Rower. There will also be pool swimming.

What they’re saying: Justin Medeiros, Dallin Pepper, and Jayson Hopper discussed the listed movements in a recent podcast episode.

  • They pointed out that there are no pull-overs, double-crossovers, or triple-unders, but almost every other movement one could think of for a fitness competition “is fair game.”

Pepper said he heard that the athletes will receive the workouts for Tour Event I in the coming weeks, limiting leaks and giving athletes time to prepare.

They compare this to Semifinals of the past few years, where athletes across the seven regions completed the same workouts.

Last year, when Pepper and Hopper competed at Syndicate Crown in the final week of the Semifinal stage, they were able to practice the workouts beforehand if they chose to do so.

  • “I think this is a cool opportunity for coaches to… flex what they’ve got – like who can prep an athlete in the best way possible,” Pepper said. “Because you’re not going to want to do ‘the workout’ for four weeks straight, in my opinion. But you can test movements, you can change the stimulus, know what your weaknesses are – program towards that.”

Final Thoughts

As a final statement in the athlete packet, the World Fitness Project highlights the phrase “People Matter More” – these three words seem to have become the league’s unofficial theme.

They expand on this concept:

  • “The World Fitness Project is an organization where people come first. We are committed to creating a culture where athletes, partners, and community members are valued and prioritized.”

In recent days, information has continued to be shared regarding WFP Tour Events, not only for the Pro division but also for the community athletes.

  • There will be four categories for the Teams of Two division (two teenage categories and two masters categories). For the Teams of Four division, there will be three categories: Elite, Intermediate, and Scaled.

Ticket sales are live for the first event, with daily, weekend, and VIP passes available.
