Thursday and Friday 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games Event Ordering Revealed

Written by Jake Boly, CSCS
Last updated on August 2nd, 2023

There’s been a lot of speculation behind the ordering of events at the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games. In the last three weeks, Dave Castro has announced a total of six events for this year’s Games, but without a hint of the ordering.

Check out the first six events below and what we know about each.

  • First announcement on July 5th: Run, Swim, Run
  • Second announcement on July 13th: Bikes
  • Third announcement on July 17th: Obstacle Course
  • Fourth announcement on July 20th: 1-RM Snatch
  • Fifth announcement on July 20th: 1-RM Clean & Jerk (Team Event)
  • Sixth announcement on July 24th: Chipper

Fortunately for us, our speculations and questions have been answered. Late last night, the CrossFit Games site shared the first two days of this year’s Reebok CrossFit Games. We now know what to expect for the individual, teams, and masters/teen athletes on Thursday and Friday.

In addition to the events ordering, we had some unanswered questions about some of the above mentioned event’s specs. For example, we now know distances of the run, swim, run event, among other details regarding unanswered event oriented questions. But some questions still remain unanswered, like just what the bike event or the obstacle course will entail.

Check out the full Thursday and Friday event schedules for each division of Games athlete below.

Individual

Thursday Friday
Event 1: Run 1.5 mile, Swim 500m, Run 1.5 Event 1: Sprint-O-Course
Event 2: Bike Event Event 2: 1-RM Snatch
Event 3: Triple G Chipper

Team

Thursday Friday
Event 1: Run 1.5 mile, Swim 500m, Run 1.5 Event 1: Sprint-O-Course
Event 2: 1-RM Clean & Jerk Males
Event 3: 1-RM Clean & Jerk Females

Masters/Teen

Thursday Friday
Event 1: Run 1.5 mile, Swim 500m, Run 1.5 Event 1: Sprint-O-Course
Event 2: 1-RM Snatch (Teen & 35-49 only)

As of now, this is the standing schedule for Thursday and Friday at the Games for all the divisions.

Will more events be added to these days? Possibly, but we’re guessing these are somewhat finalized schedules. These days look similar in volume and ordering to the first days of other Games events we’ve seen in previous years.
