Andrea Shaw Wins 2020 Rising Phoenix World Championships Bodybuilding Show

The new champion now looks ahead to the Olympia.

When the Ms. Olympia contest was discontinued in 2014, a new show was created to determine the best women’s bodybuilder in the world. It’s called the Rising Phoenix World Championships. This contest has been held every year since 2015, and even with the return of the Ms. Olympia this year to Orlando, Florida, the 2020 running event of this bodybuilding show was still held on December 5th in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Winner – Andrea Shaw

Andrea Shaw of Clinton Township, Michigan would leave Scottsdale with the title of Rising Phoenix World Champion, the $50,000 first place prize money, and a new car. She was considered the best athlete in the lineup during both the prejudging and finals. This is her first win at this contest and she now looks forward to the 2020 Ms. Olympia contest where many of these competitors will also be to face her again. She also will face the return of ten-time Olympia Champion Iris Kyle. This was considered by many in attendance to be the best Shaw had ever looked onstage.

Second Place – Helle Trevino

Trevino is a two-time champion at this contest (2017, 2019), and was looked at as a favorite to win again this weekend. Unfortunately she had to settle for the runner-up position. “The Beastqueen” will also be in the lineup at the Olympia so a rematch with Shaw will be forthcoming.

Third Place – Monique Jones

Jones is a competitor that is always considered a top contender in any contest she enters. Unfortunately for her, Shaw was at her peak and Trevino was considered better as well. It could also be that she is waiting to bring her best to the Olympia. Nonetheless, Jones still walks away with a top three finish in this contest.
