2024 TYR Wodapalooza SoCal Spectator Guide

From events and meet-and-greets to some great local gyms, we've got a rundown of what you can do in SoCal this weekend.

The inaugural year of TYR Wodapalooza SoCal will be held September 20-22 in Huntington Beach, CA. There is a ton to do throughout the weekend, so we’ve compiled a list of all the info you need to know.

  • Remember, even though you can purchase tickets at the door, TYR WZA suggests buying in advance. Grab tickets here.
  • If you are unable to make it to Southern California, the competition will be streamed live on Loud and Live Sports’ YouTube Channel.

2024 TYR Wodapalooza SoCal Events

Here are the main events you can take part in or watch at WZA:

The Gauntlet — Powered by the U.S. Army

  • Individuals can test their fitness alongside their peers in a challenging one-hour window.
  • Athletes will compete in their chosen time slot on Friday or Saturday, completing multiple workouts within a 60-minute time frame.
  • The top athletes in each division will move on to the finals held on Sunday.
  • There are Scaled, Intermediate, and Rx Individual Divisions.

Ragnar 5k Beach Run 

  • On Saturday morning, runners will take on a 3.1-mile out-and-back loop on the low-tide sands of Huntington Beach.
  • Participants are encouraged to register for a single event ticket. The mass begins to line up at 7 a.m.
  • Every participant will receive a finisher patch and timing results, as well as $40 off a weekend spectator pass.

The TYR Cup: Team North America vs. Team World

  • The TYR Cup is an all-star match-up featuring a two-team, head-to-head format pitting the best athletes from North America against the best athletes from the rest of the world.
  • It is a three-day competition, with the teams made up of four men and four women, anchored by one male and one female captain.
  • There will be multiple workouts in six test formats. Head here to learn more.
    • The World Captains: Tia-Clair Toomey and Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson
    • North America Captains: Danielle Brandon and Patrick Vellner
  • The teams will be battling it out for a $250,000 cash prize.

REIGN Total Body Fuel Meet-and-Greets

  • Fans and athletes can connect with elite athletes, including Jayson Hopper, Ellie Turner, Roman Khrennikov, Brooke Wells, Chandler Smith, Noah Ohlsen, Mitchell Hooper, Brendan Schaub, and the Buttery Bros.
  • The VIP Experience at TYR WZA SoCal is also exclusively sponsored by REIGN Total Body Fuel.
  • There will be two activations over the weekend: 
    • The first is located at the main entrance, and the second is in the double-decker structure in the partner quad of the beach. 
    • There will be REIGN refreshments and a lounge on the first floor with exclusive VIP access to the second-floor terrace.

Plunge Events

  • Plunge is the Official Cold Tub Partner of TYR WZA SoCal and will host meet-and-greets with Noah Ohlsen at its booth during the weekend.

  • If you would like to drop in, you can fill out your waiver here. Drop-ins cost $30.
