The 2025 Strongest Man on Earth (SMoE) contest — the main event of the Shaw Classic — will occur on Aug. 16-17, 2025, in Loveland, CO. As is the modus operandi for the contest’s promoter, four-time World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Brian Shaw, the events were expected to be heavy, static-strength lifts. On April 8, 2025, Shaw revealed what the 2025 contest will feature:

2025 Strongest Man on Earth Events

The 2025 SMoE will be comprised of eight events:

  • Max Log Press
  • Standing Chest Press
  • Side-Handle Deadlift
  • Frame Carry Into Seated Arm-Over-Arm Medley
  • Super Yoke
  • Manhood Stones
  • Max Weight Keg Toss
  • Tire Flip Power Stairs Medley

The Side-Handle Deadlift will feature a custom frame to allow athletes to lift with a neutral grip. The Super Yoke will also feature a custom apparatus featuring athletes carrying heavy safes. The heaviest Manhood Stone will be 600 pounds, as seen at the SMoE before.

While Shaw did not share all the weights that will be used or the order of the events throughout the competition, as those details are still in discussion, he did disclose that the Tire Flip Power Stairs will close the show.

The 2025 SMoE roster is stacked. Defending champion Mitchell Hooper will return to attempt a title defense. Two-time Shaw Classic champion Trey Mitchell will challenge Hooper to recapture the title. Three-time WSM Tom Stoltman and Three-time Arnold Strongman Classic (ASC) champion Hafthor Björnsson will also battle for the throne.

  • Mitchell Hooper — Defending Champion
  • Lucas Hatton
  • Trey Mitchell
  • Austin Andrade
  • Tom Stoltman
  • Maxime Boudreault
  • Josh Spurgeon
  • Hafthor Björnsson

Note: the roster is subject to change as athletes accept or decline invitations to compete. At the time of this article’s publication, eight athletes have been confirmed; another eight are expected to join for a 16-athlete roster.
