Cornwell’s new world record squat was 3.8 times her body weight. According to Open Powerlifting, this lift bested the previous all-time world record squat of 256.2 kilograms (564.8 pounds) hit by Stacy Burr at the 2019 Xtreme Powerlifting Coalition (XPC) Pro Finals. Burr currently holds the all-time world record total in the weight class — 650.9 kilograms (1,435 pounds).
Cornwell’s Competitive Career
Despite having claim to the heaviest squat ever performed in competition in the 67.5-kilogram class (raw with wraps), Cornwell’s competitive career only spans three competitions before her appearance at the APF Cincinnati Women’s Pro/Am, per Open Powerlifting. However, when she shows up for a competition, she doesn’t lose.
She has won gold in all four of her competitive appearances since 2017 across two weight classes. Here is the breakdown in addition to her recent win at the APF Cincinnati Women’s Pro/Am:
2020 Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate (RPS) Beast of the Bluegrass — first place, 67.5 kilograms

Cornwell took the time to thank those who helped her train, her family, and the event staff on her Instagram page but did not disclose when she plans to compete next. When she does, we’ll have our eyes peeled if she calls for yet another world record weight on the barbell.
