Tiffany Chapon is doing her part to make sure the powerlifting world is on notice. On Jan. 30, 2022, the 47-kilogram powerlifter posted video clips on Instagram that feature her hitting some pretty big numbers on all three lifts in training. Chapon wore a lifting belt for squats and deadlifts, knee sleeves during squats, and performed the bench press raw.
Chapon’s In-Gym Total
- Squat — 150 kilograms (330 pounds)
- Bench Press — 95 kilograms (209.5 pounds)
- Deadlift — 165 kilograms (363.8 pounds)
- Total — 410 kilograms (904 pounds)
According to Chapon’s Instagram caption, the total was done “post covid”, implying that the lifter recently got back in the gym after having COVID-19. And clearly, Chapon bounces back strong. Her in-gym total was 2.5 kilograms over the current 47-kilogram IPF world record total, set by Chen Wei-Ling at the 2015 IPF World Championships.

Here are Wei-Ling’s lifts from that competition, according to Open Powerlifting.
- Squat — 152.5 kilograms (336.2 pounds)
- Bench Press — 80 kilograms (176.3 pounds)
- Deadlift — 175 kilograms (385.8 pounds)
- Total — 407.5 (898.3 pounds)
Chapon currently has the second-highest total in IPF history for the women’s 47-kilogram class, thanks to her efforts at the 2021 IPF World Classic. She totaled 397.5 kilograms on that day, putting her within 10 kilograms of the total benchmark. Here are the numbers from that meet. Clearly, Chapon has gotten stronger since this competition, especially in the bench press, which improved by 12.5 kilograms in her recent in-gym total.
- Squat — 150 kilograms (330 pounds)
- Bench Press — 82.5 kilograms (181.8 pounds)
- Deadlift — 165 kilograms (363.7 pounds)
- Total — 397.5 kilograms (875.5 pounds)

It’s very likely that Chapon has her eyes set on taking that position for herself. On Nov. 30, 2021, the elite French competitor posted a video of herself squatting 153.5 kilograms (338.4 pounds), which would’ve broken her own world record of 153 kilograms in the Open class.
What may be most intriguing about Chapon’s rate of progress is that she’s just 20 years old. In addition to owning one Open world record, she has three IPF Junior World Records — the squat, bench press, and total — to her name. lifts is that she is only 20 years of age.
As of this writing, there is no word on what her next meet will be.
