On Aug. 13-14, 2022, the third edition of the Shaw Classic will take place in Loveland, CO, at the Budweiser Center. It will feature 15 strongmen clashing in the return of epic events, like the Hummer Tire Deadlift, as well as the addition of a never-before-seen event in elite strongman competition: the Car Leg Press.

The 2022 Shaw Classic will be live streamed by ADL Production. If there are any broadcast disruptions during the competition, the show will be recorded for future viewing. Anyone who was part of the Shaw Strength Club (https://club.shawstrength.com/) prior to 5 p.m. MST on Aug. 2, 2022, can watch the stream via the Shaw Strength Club. Those who are not members can purchase and stream the event through the ADL website: http://adlpro.live.

Both of the previous Shaw Classic winners — Brian Shaw and Trey Mitchell — will be competing in Colorado. Here is the rest of the lineup:

2022 Shaw Classic Roster

  • Brian Shaw — 2020 Champion
  • Trey Mitchell — Reigning Champion
  • Kevin Faires
  • Aivars Šmaukstelis

Those in the club will retain recorded access for one year. “PRO full access” members will have live stream access similar to “OPEN” but also get to see a live video of the athlete number drawing on Aug. 12, 2022.

Those not part of the Shaw Strength Club can watch the Men and Women’s Open contests via OPEN full access for a one-time payment of $4.99 through the ADL Live website. Viewing the 2022 Shaw Classic will cost a one-time payment of $14.99.

Lift to Win

With Tom Stoltman out of the 2022 Shaw Classic, a podium position he likely would have stood in is now up for grabs. With all the event coordination that Shaw has undertaken to produce the Shaw Classic, it isn’t clear if he will be at his best when the lights are on him to lift. However, the events are conducive to his strengths, and he could pull out a winning performance as he did in 2020.

Mitchell will certainly aim to retain his title, which is a noteworthy one given how much more significant this contest has become just three years into its existence. Still, guys like Mitchell Hooper and Kevin are looking for the first premier event wins in the Open division of their careers. We’ll see who comes out on top in the Car Leg Press and claims victory in Colorado.
