Lucy Underdown Wins 2024 Arnold Strongwoman Classic UK

Underdown wins the tiebreaker against Angelica Jardine for the top of the podium in Birmingham.

The 2024 Arnold Strongwoman UK contest occurred on March 16-17, 2024, in Birmingham, England. Nine of the world’s top strongwomen competed across five events for the coveted title — American Oak, Farmer’s Walk, Power Medley (Yoke and Heavy Dumbbell), Bag Over Bar, and Deadlift.

Lucy Underdown scored 30 of a possible 45 points to claim the overall win. 2024 Arnold Strongwoman Classic US champion Angelica Jardine scored 30 points as well but earned the silver after conceding the tiebreaker of a 118-kilogram Farmer’s Hold to Underdown. Nadia Stowers rounded out the podium. Below are the final standings:

2024 Arnold Strongwoman Classic UK Event Results

Below are the results for each of the five contested events in Birmingham:

American Oak

Athletes had 90 seconds to lift a 122 or 100-kilogram Oak for as many reps as possible. A single rep with the heavier Oak outranked any number of reps with the lighter Oak.

  1. Inez Carrasquillo — Five reps (122 kilograms)
  2. Andrea Thompson — Four reps (122 kilograms)
  3. Angelica Jardine — Three reps (122 kilograms)
  4. Nadia Stowers — Two reps (122 kilograms)
  5. Melissa Peacock — Seven reps (100 kilograms)
  6. Samantha Belliveau — Six reps (100 kilograms)
  7. Rebecca Roberts — Five reps (100 kilograms)
  8. Lucy Underdown — Five reps (100 kilograms)
  9. Hannah Linzay — no lift

Farmer’s Walk

Athletes had one minute to carry 118 kilograms for distance up and down a 15-meter track. The strongwomen were allowed to drop and regrip once every 15 meters.

  1. Rebecca Roberts — 43.5 meters
  2. Lucy Underdown — 43.1 meters
  3. Nadia Stowers — 30 meters (T-third)
  4. Andrea Thompson — 30 meters (T-third)
  5. Angelica Jardine — 24.2 meters
  6. Hannah Linzay — 23.7 meters
  7. Samantha Belliveau — 23.6 meters
  8. Inez Carrasquillo — 22 meters
  9. Melissa Peacock — 7.9 meters

Power Medley

The Power Medley comprised a 300-kilogram yoke for 15 meters and heavy dumbbell presses with 55, 65, and 75 kilograms. The yoke and each dumbbell totaled four reps.

  1. Samantha Belliveau — Four in 52.20 seconds
  2. Angelica Jardine — Four in 139.80 seconds
  3. Melissa Peacock — Three in 35.51 seconds
  4. Nadia Stowers — Three in 58.76 seconds
  5. Inez Carrasquillo — Three in 65.40 seconds
  6. Andrea Thompson — Three in 68.94 seconds
  7. Rebecca Roberts — Three in 130.86 seconds
  8. Lucy Underdown — One in 25.18 seconds
  9. Hannah Linzay — no lift

Bag Over Bar

Athletes established their highest toss with a 13-kilogram implement.

  1. Lucy Underdown — 5.79 meters (T-first)
  2. Samantha Belliveau — 5.79 meters (T-first)
  3. Inez Carrasquillo — 5.33 meters
  4. Angelica Jardine — 5.18 meters (T-fourth)
  5. Rebecca Roberts — 5.18 meters (T-fourth)
  6. Hannah Linzay — 5.18 meters (T-fourth)
  7. Nadia Stowers — 5.03 meters
  8. Andrea Thompson — 4.57 meters
  9. Melissa Peacock — 4.27 meters

Deadlift

Athletes attempted to lockout max reps with 228 kilograms.

  1. Lucy Underdown — 12 reps
  2. Nadia Stowers — Eight reps (T-second)
  3. Andrea Thompson — Eight reps (T-second)
  4. Melissa Peacock — Seven reps
  5. Angelica Jardine — Six reps
  6. Hannah Linzay — Five reps
  7. Inez Carrasquillo — Four reps
  8. Samantha Belliveau — Three reps (T-eighth)
  9. Rebecca Roberts — Three reps (T-eighth)
