Andy Galpin has a PhD in Human Bioenergetics as well as a Masters in Human Movement Sciences. Dr. Galpin is a tenured professor and scientist at CSU Fullerton where he is the Director of the Center for Sport Performance, which conducts, present, and publish research and engage in consultations specifically related to improvement of sports performance.
He also Directs the Biochemistry and Molecular Exercise Physiology Lab, which performs innovative and impactful research in human performance by studying the acute responses and chronic adaptations of skeletal muscle (from the whole muscle down to the single cell) to high intensity/velocity/power/force exercise.
Dr. Galpin publishes his work in numerous high-impact peer-reviewed journals, speaks around the world at professional conferences and clinics, and frequently appears in popular media outlets such as TV, radio, magazines, websites, and particularly podcasts (e.g., Joe Rogan Experience, Barbell Shrugged, Sigma Nutrition, etc.). He even hosts his own seasonal podcast, The Body of Knowledge.
Dr. Galpin teaches senior and graduate level courses in program design, sports nutrition, human performance, strength and conditioning, and muscle physiology and works closely with professional athletes, World Champions, and Olympic Gold medalists from sports such as MMA, boxing, wrestling, football, and more.
