Another Junior snatch World Record has fallen at the 2022 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships, taking place May 2-10, 2022, in Heraklion, Greece.
Bohdan Hoza of Ukraine won gold in the 109-kilogram weight category with a 410-kilogram (903.9-pound) total. 20-year-old Hoza surpassed his previous Junior snatch World Record by five kilograms with a 195-kilogram (429.9-pound) successful third attempt.
Here are the results from the Men’s 109-kilogram category below:

Based on the final scorecard, Hoza was in a league all his own in Greece. Securing first place via a 41-kilogram margin is a significant improvement from his silver-medal performance at the 2021 IWF Junior World Championships, where his 402-kilogram (886.3-pound) total missed tying Hristo Dimitrov Hristov of Bulgaria’s total by a single kilogram.
Hoza is clearly a snatch specialist. No other lifter in the 109-kilogram category managed to eclipse beyond 168 kilograms (370.4 pounds), the weighted lifted by runner-up Ali.
Hoza’s 195-kilogram (429.9-pound) snatch is also a mere five kilograms short of the current world record held by Yang Zhe of China.
