Jay Cutler has no idea who’s gonna win the 2024 Mr. Olympia. “It’s a hell of a top six,” Cutler said of the highly competitive Men’s Open division at the “O,” which the four-time winner believes is far more rigorous than in his heyday.
- “I’m just glad I’m not in there,” Cutler joked back in September.
Here are Cutler’s predictions for the athletes who will likely occupy the top six slots at the 2024 Mr. Olympia, which runs from Oct. 10 to 13 in Las Vegas, NV.
Jay Cutler | 2024 Mr. Olympia Top 6 Predictions
Note that Cutler specifically mentioned avoiding ranking the athletes — these are merely who he expects the pack leaders to be, in the order he considered them during a Sep. 29, 2024 social media vlog.
Cutler tacked on Hunter Labrada and Martin Fitzwater to the end of his roll call: “Nick’s on a rampage, and Martin is ready to prove himself.” The quad stomp artist also took a beat to shout-out Brazilian bodybuilder Rafael Brandao, who won the 2024 Arnold South America competition back in April.

- “Everyone is forgetting about Rafa. I don’t know how he can’t be in the top six,” Cutler remarked.
While the Sandow trophy is Lunsford’s to lose, the history maker — Lunsford in 2023 became the first bodybuilder to win both the Men’s Open and 212 divisions — will face stiff competition from both Choopan whom Lunsford dethroned and half a dozen other ultra-competitive athletes.
2024 Mr. Olympia: Evaluating the Top 6
Cutler is right about one thing; the Men’s Open division is, well, wide open. In the eight years since modern great Phil Heath won his last title, no bodybuilder on Earth has managed to win the Mr. Olympia multiple times other than Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay (2020, 2021), who won’t be competing at the “O” in 2024.
If Lunsford wants to begin building his empire, he needs to fend off the other athletes in his class. For a refresher, let’s briefly run through the biggest assets of Cutler’s top six:
- Lunsford: Defending champion who boasts one of the biggest, most muscular backs in the world.
- Choopan: Known for his sliced-and-diced levels of conditioning, an asset which rings well with the judges’ panel.
- Dauda: Renowned for his all-around muscularity and spectacular proportions.
- Walker: Considers himself an underdog this year, but maintains a large fanbase for his out-of-this world levels of mass.
- Curry: A true veteran who’s competed at the Olympia since 2011, Curry’s package has landed him in the top five every year since 2018.
- Jacked: Boasts the biggest frame (Jacked is 6’2”) and, by consequence, highest muscular potential in the class.
Then, of course, you have Labrada, Fitzwater, and Brandao waiting in the wings — and anything can happen at the Olympia. The biggest event in bodybuilding begins in one week on Oct. 10, 2024.
